Kelly provided the most wonderful tasting experience. I loved the choice of doing the «featured flight,» or choosing my own al la carte tasting. Beautiful tasting room and stunning wine. I LOVED their rose and the port, which Kelly paired with a blue cheese for my tasting, it was amazing. Great prices and great hours, and it’s right in town. GREAT experience.

Delicious Malbec, friendly service. Great place to enjoy a good glass of wine and sit on the sidewalk. Good atmosphere inside and out.

I was disappointed. There were three of us that came in on a Saturday evening. The customer load was steady, but not booming per se. (No one was waiting for a table). We all chose to do wine tastings. I’m no newbie to wine tasting, but one of our party had never done it before. Basically, the gal brought our first glass, didn’t say anything about the wine other than what it was (no tasting notes, or origin, etc.) then walked away to talk to her friend behind the bar. It went on like this the entire time. On top of that, the wine was not spectacular. It was totally run of the mill.

Wow! If you like dry wines this is the place! Kelly is very knowledgeable, and she made our experience memorable, walking us through the entire tasting! If you are in Yakima, this place is a must!

We stopped in for a wine tasting on a Wednesday afternoon and had a great time! The wines were all really good, but the cab and port were especially great. So much so that we purchased a couple of bottles. Kelly, who was taking care of us was great and generous with her pours. She was also very knowledgable about the wines and had recommendations on what else we could do during our stay. We will definitely return when we are back in Yakima!

Cool place to try eastern Washington’s wine scene. Delicious wine selection. I enjoyed all the ones I try. Kelly was great at recommendations and was very helpful. I will definitely look for their wines back home whenever I’m out.

It wasn’t the wine that prompt me to give this place a five star, although all of them were good — (besides the Riesling that was exceptionally good) it was more the relaxed ambiance and feel that made it a five star experience.
I started out with a complimentary cucumber infused water, and than ordered the cornichons — they were plentiful for the $ 4 I paid, and only than I started sampling their signature wines, — it’s $ 5 for the testing — so in-​between wines I got introduced by the woman who served me; to a couple of really good wine books that she brought out, it really enhanced my experience, you know, sipping some wine while reading a book is not that bad of a deal…
She Also offered me some great tips on wineries in the west coast, and some restaurants that I should check out while visiting San Francisco.
So after all it was an afternoon well spent.

I visited Gilbert Cellar’s tasting room on a Saturday afternoon in late October. The Malbec was tasty, the tasting room was nice, and the location was convenient – very easy to walk to another tasting room or restaurant after.

Do not visit downtown Yakima WITHOUT stopping here! Gilbert Cellers serves exceptional food and wine (made nearby). During my last visit to the area, I stopped here twice! Appears this tasting room in downtown also offers live music! Just a hop, skip and a jump from Seattle! My first visit there was about 5 years ago and my most recent this past June, 2015. If you are not going eastbound on I-​90 anytime soon, pick up a bottle of your favorite red or white wine at your favorite store from Gilbert and get motivated for a road trip!

enjoyed a very relaxed tasting at Gilbert Cellars during a wine tasting trip to Yakima. Our hostess, Gloria, was extremely knowledgeable on the wines despite only moving to the area from California last September. A normal flight of 5 wines was $ 5 but you could taste extra wines for $ 1.50 each. We decided to taste everything since they were our last stop of the day. The wines were all excellent quality but we were particularly taken by the Reds. The 2013 Malbec was especially good. We ended up buying a case and can’t wait to taste them at home!

UnOaked Chard, Left Bank blend 5 stars. Add tapas, atmosphere & location. Equalled maybe… But unbeatable definitely.

Great place to hang out and taste some really great wines. The atmosphere was relaxing, mellow and comfortable. Between the four of us we shared the cheese plate and hummus with the tasting price of three wines.
All of us got a little tipsy off the three wines, so keep up with the water and food!

Awesome wine tasting with laid back, chill jazz atmosphere. Beautifully decorated and live music downstairs. Finally, awesome food. Must visit!

We participated in the Wine Wednesday’s impromptu educational opportunity. It was amazing! Brody shared a vast amount of pertinent information as we tasted 3 superb wines from the Gilbert library. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, hummus, cheese flight, pickles, salmon mousse, and white bean prosciutto. All were beautifully prepared, fresh and extremely tasty! We will definitely be returning!

We really enjoyed our stop at Gilbert Cellars. The ambiance is awesome, rustic neveaux, with some lovely outdoor seating. The wines were delicious, we ended up with a bottle of the Left Bank to enjoy with dinner (they let you take bottles next door to the restaurant 5 North with no corkage fee, yay!) but the Malbec was also a favorite with amazing flavor. They do serve food but note that they have a limited menu on Sundays. Price points are well within reason for the quality of wine. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back here, it was great!

Awesome wine! Love Erin and Jared!!! I’m not from the area. They are a lot of fun, I am really enjoying the tasting. The hummus is delicious and so is the white bean dip. Really enjoyable relaxing place. Happy hour is a steal here! Definitely come by

This is a very nice tasting room. The host was friendly and knowledgeable and there was just a good vibe. The kind of tasting room I would visit for happy hour and hang out.
The best wine I tasted was the 2010 Allobroges. Don’t be shy to ask for the pronunciation. This is a great red and I am kicking myself for not buying a bottle.
The Riesling is also very good. This is probably one of my top 5 favorite Rieslings. And, since it was 95 degrees out the day I went tasting, so a bottle came home with me and did not last long.
A must stop on your wine tasting tour through Yakima.

Lovely space in Yakima. Gilbert cellars has a modern minimalist décor but still feels warm and inviting. The pourer I met (Lincoln) was friendly and knowledgable, and being the only customer at the time, was very sociable and willing to engage in conversation about the wine, the AVA (American Viticultural Association region), the history of Gilbert Cellars, and more. The interior felt cool while I was there and it took me a while to warm up, so I kept my jacket on most of the time.
$ 5 for tasting the flight of 5 wines. The pourer said that the combination of pours roughly equals one glass of wine. In the pre-​selected flight I tried: Reisling, Allobroges (Medium Rhone inspired blend), Syrah, Left, Bank (Bordeaux inspired blend), and Cabernet Sauvignon. Additionally, for $ 1 /​pour, other wines can be sampled. I tried the Pinot Noir, 2009 Reserve, and Tempranillo Port.
Each of their wines was delicious in its own way. I took home bottles of both the Allobroges and Left Bank blends, though I wanted to walk away with more including the Reserve and Tempranillo Port, and would have been happy to have any of the single varietals as well! The $ 5 tasting fee was waived since I purchased wine.
From the time they open (around 11am) until 4pm they serve a tapas menu only. I tried and would recommend the bacon-​wrapped dates (stuffed with bleu cheese) as well as the baguette with cheese. I think I may have had a chevre from Tieton Farm & Creamery. After 4pm Gilbert Cellars has an expanded food menu.
Wine and how it appeals or does not to a person is highly subjective and can depend on many factors that are not in control of the grape grower, wine maker, or even the pourer. What one person would die for, another will despise. I loved their wines, and if you decide to visit, I hope you will too.

Tasting rooms in the city just aren’t as much fun and interesting as tasting rooms at the actual winery. I felt like I was just at an ordinary bar and did not get much of an education and feel for the wines.
The bartender was pleasant enough but I don’t feel like he had any sort of passion or interest in the wines and frankly, after tasting them, we didn’t either.
The bar and seating is very nicely appointed but the wines and the tasting experience was unremarkable.

What brought me here is «SALSA THURSDAYS», but what keeps me coming back is the big-​city style, lovely libations, and of course, «SALSA THURSDAYS». Situated on the corner of Front & Yakima Ave is a true gem.

Here you have a long list of excellent wines to choose from Gilbert Cellars. And if you are not in the mood for vino, there is a noice selection of bottled ales (I especially like how they have brews from nearby Yakima Craft Brewing Company [
. And they also have Chimay – and you might know I’m a sucker for ales from Belgium).
Although I’ve not tried any, I’ve seen some tasty-​looking tapas and deserts being prepared (and eaten) by the staff here.
The pourers have always been super nice and helpful.
One of my favorite features of the Tasting Room is the huge photograph of Gilbert Peak behind the bar. I get lost in that snow-​covered peak whenever I’m cooling off from dancing and ordering a drink.

The Yakima Salsa Dance Company and Gilbert Cellars started up SALSA THURSDAYS a few months ago, and already it’s a total hit (
)!
Take a walk downstairs and get your dance on. Cover is only $ 5, and if you get there by 7:30 you can take a free salsa lesson. Then from 8−11pm DJ David takes over and plays some salsa, merengue, bachata, and cumbia. This has already become one of the best places to go for salsa dancing in eastern Washington. The music’s great, the people are awesome, and the vibe is chill for everyone from beginners to advanced dancers. It’s all good and fun. And when I was starting to get sad about lack of places to go dancing, Gilbert Cellars and the Yakima Salsa Dance Co. saved the day!
There is local art adorning the walls, a few fans (it does get super hot down here sometimes, so dress and prep accordingly), and ice water (but if you want something cool, go upstairs and grab a glass of white, or a brew!).
