History

Established in 1976.

In 1976 Sunbird Shopping Center was located in the old Yard Birds building on National Ave in Chehalis, WA. The owners at that time wanted to create a family owned retail establishment, much like Yard Birds was at that time. The store was a success. Twenty years later, in 1996, Gus Salloum and Ron Sturza, employees of Sunbird at the time, partnered up and purchased Sunbird Shopping Center. Their intention was to continue the traditions that Sunbird had established in the late 70’s by focusing on carrying the right merchandise, having outstanding customer service, friendly help and a knowledgeable staff.

Through out the years, Sunbird has endured every challenge that mother nature could throw it’s way, and not only did they survive, they came back stronger and better each time.

Today, Sunbird Shopping Center has two outstanding locations, fully stocked with the best in clothing, footwear, sporting goods, hardware, lawn and garden, housewares and canning.
