Our car broke down on the I-87 and the tow truck driver who happened to come by took us to a repair shop on Willow St. in Yonkers. While we were waiting to hear the car’s fate, we happened upon Catrina’s around the corner. Balm in our wounds! First-rate chicken soup, from stock, WITH chicken, fresh veggies, complimentary nachos with excellent salsa, extra little bowl with onions, cilantro, limes, condiments. Generous portions, a great hot chocolate, and really friendly service. We felt as if we had been coming for years. And all for an eminently reasonable check! Too bad we live so far away. But please, try them!

The place is in a non commercial neighborhood, to get there you have to walk up a huge hill or drive. Shady area at night. With that said, restaurant looks odd, a ew characters watching TV at the counter and nobody at the dinning area(at least this day). One person manning the place and 2 cooks. Placed the order via phone to be picked up, come in 15 she said, as I arrived she greeted me and said Pupusa to go? Yes I reply and paid. While she is setting up I asked if they take credit cards or belong to one of those online ordering services and she said no, sorry. I would love to order without having to talk to anyone.

The absolute best tacos and pupusas I have ever had!!! Accidentally came across this little spot because I live in the area and I am so glad I did!!! They also have Tortas which are to die for!!! Do not let the area deter you!!! If you want an awesome Mexican /Ecuadorian meal check out this hole in the wall!!! The decorations are also adorable, which make for a great dining experience!!! The owners are so friendly and make you feel at home!!!
