We’ve had many lunches and on those oft times, we also do well by just having drinks on that occasional weekday afternoon here at this nicely decorated, modern restaurant called the Dolphin. The bartenders, servers, waiters and waitresses have all provided friendly and attentive service during our visits. The meals, be it just an appetizer or a full entrée, have been solid; nothing outstanding to complain about and nothing outstanding to boast about. Drinks are easy as we are wine lovers, and their list of wines have been fairly on par with most. Parking, though metered, is easy to obtain during a weekday afternoon as the spots are vertical and directly in front of the restaurant. The meter could literally be less than ten feet away from where you are seated, providing the easy access of the necessary meter feeding without the worry of a parking ticket. For those peak dinner hours, where parking might be hard to find, valet parking is also available. The Dolphin is in a prime location a little past downtown Yonkers and their location proves to be a major plus point for me, being near a decent sized pier situated directly on the Hudson River. Before or after having your meal, on a clear day, while looking south, you can possibly catch a glimpse of the George Washington Bridge several miles away. Or, watch the river and the cliff sides of New Jersey or better yet, just sit and enjoy the tranquility of your surroundings and reflect on life. If considering visiting the Dolphin, anytime would be a great time to visit, but during the Spring/Summer/Fall months these are definitely better in order to take advantage of the restaurant as well as the beautiful views of the Hudson.

A group of us went there for their Sunday brunch. It was fantastic. The service was great and the food was amazing. We will definitely be visiting back during the summer. They even have valet parking which is definitely a plus. The chef even came towards table which I thought was a very nice touch to the afternoon. We had a great time.

Came here for valentines dinner, they had preset menu of 4 courses for $ 57; This also came with a professional photo and a rose. There was a great variety and selection in each course, they really made a conscious effort to accommodate everyone, I was a bit skeptical as my boyfriend wouldn’t be a fan of fish but he wasn’t stuck for options. The food was delicious, sometimes with preset menus not as much effort goes in to the dishes but this wasn’t the case. Will definitely be back to try there regular menu.

I have visited this restaurant a few times over the last few years and each trip is progressively worse. The elevated seating is cramped and cold, while the bar area sits empty. The waitstaff with the exception of the bus boy will completely ignore you if you are not a regular. The food is average but with the poor service it will make you feel unsatisfied.

Great local restaurant. My husband and I stopped by quite randomly. Come down to the waterfront and give it a try. I tried a dish with grits and shrimp it was great. I am originally from the south so the meal experience hit«home».

Bad food, bad beer, mediocre service. Don’t bother going there. Small plates, expensive. Lobster mac and cheese tasted like baked ziti with lobster not mac asks cheese at all. Crab curry bisque soup had no flavor. I added salt and treated cheese to make it taste like something. Waste of money.

This place is fantastic! Went therea weekend in September(it took me a while to post this) for a friend’s birthday dinner and they really served up great service. The food was amazing. We got a whole bunch of plates to share. We got the following: 1. the paella– which is great and they don’t skim you on the seafood. There were real mussles, clams, shrimp, and chorizo. It comes out in the pot they cooked it on. The presentation compliments the dish very well. 2. The calamari — great calamari! It was perfectly battered and fried. It comes paired with Marinara sauce that compliments it perfectly. 3. The lobster mac & cheese: while the portion is really good for one to two people for an appetizer, it was really good! 4. The truffle fries are so good!!! Overall, great vibe, awesome service! YOUHAVETOGOTHERE!

Haven’t hang out in Yonkers in a while and this place did not disappoint. Came here during restaurant week however ended up ordering from regular menu cause the chimichurri steak looked too delicious to pass. Had oysters as appetizer and they were nice and fresh. Steak was cooked to our liking. Their Martinis were yummy too. I love that the restaurant has a quiet dinning section and a loud one. I guess we looked loud :) I’ll definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I are considering some properties in the Yonkers area. We decided to go to dinner at a Yonker restaurant for Restaurant week where we could then take a drive through the neighborhood. We received a phone call about 15 minutes before our reservation time confirming that we were coming. We initially thought it was because they were so busy and/or attentive customer service. Upon entering we were seated right away which is always a plus. We sat to the right along the wall of doors. There were only two other parties in the restaurant, seated to the left of the entrance on a raised seating area. It looked a little tight to add another party. We thought it was odd that they were not busy considering the restaurant next store had some may patrons coming in and out. We quickly found out why. We glanced at their menu and it seemed like a decent offering of options. There were fish and veggy options so I was happy to see that. However, when our waitress came over, she went over the number of items that they were out of. It was disappointing because the only one vegetarian entrée, they had ran out of. My waitress offered me two appetizers instead but I didn’t want to get jipped on the portion size so I just ordered the fish entrée. For appetizers, we started with Aracini(rice ball) and the meatballs. Both were decent but nothing spectacular. For the entrée, I ordered the fish over a creamy polenta. The fish was decently fried but rather tastless. There was a runny tartar type sauce drizzled over it that I wasn’t fond of. I ended up not eating much of my entrée. My boyfriend ordered the skirt steak with mashed potatoes. His potatoes were yummy(i had some when I stopped eating my polenta). He said the steak was okay but I could tell he was not impressed. For dessert, we ordered bread pudding and an apple pie something. A few bites in and we were both done. Overall the food was disappointing and so was the experience. Nothing was spectacular or made you want to stay. We were in and out within in 45 minutes. Which i think is quick for a three course meal which only made me think that everything was pre done and nuked up when we came in. I was not impressed and honestly do not think we will ever return. I will say that the staff was pleasant and attentive. The cook even came out to wave.

So I did not know the concept of bottomless brunch was so hard to comprehend. Me &6 of my friends came to eat here this past Sunday(9⁄20). Our waiter was Michael. We had reservations at 12:30pm for brunch. We were seated quickly & our orders were taken. We asked the waiter if he could separate our checks & he assured us that we would only need to remind him at the end. One of the problems I had is the attentiveness of the waiter(mind you there were only two other tables aside from us to start). He would disappear far two often for an extended period of time. An order of bottomless drinks and I think I may of drank 2 drinks in an hour &20mins. The purpose of bottomless brunch is that your drink is refilled at a timely fashion(cause that’s the point of me paying $ 18 for unlimited as opposed to $ 8 a drink). It got to the point where I had to walk around the entire restaurant to try & find the waiter. The busboy got our drinks instead. Then the check came(after we reminded him again about the separate checks) & it was one single check. As we tried to find him in order to correct the error we see Michael in normal clothes leaving the restaurant to which we were told by a bartender that he had to «catch a bus». That was really unprofessional. The bartender(blonde male I believe) handled our payments. He certainly did not deserve the gratuity. I would come back for the food & the view but take brunch off the menu if you cant do it right. I’ll head into NYC next time for a proper brunch.

I’m a little confused… How the heck does this place have a three? It’s right on the water(Hudson) not all stuffy, easy to walk in for dinner and has amazing food. Maybe there has been a turn for the best?! Lol Pro: food is on point. Delicious seafood. Great ambiance. Outdoor seating. Dark and sexy. Cons: was a little slow for a Friday night which really blows my mind. I will definitely be back! Cheers.

Just left the resturant and I’m extremely disappointed. There was no wait and we were seated right away. Someone came to take our drink order and bring bread nut once we ordered it took FOREVER for the food to come out. Which was annoying because there were barely any people there. Once the food did get there I honestly was not impressed. Portions were small as well. This is my first and last time at this resturant. On the plus side the location is great.

Lobster mac and cheese was delicious! Everything you love In A mac and cheese: plenty of cheese, Al dente penne, and a good crust. The lobster was bountiful and fresh as well. The boyfriend ordered the Argentinian skirt steak which was cooked to perfection and the fries were just the right thickness and crispness. We also ordered a bottle of Malbec which was amazing. Wednesday’s are half off wine bottles! Go on Wednesdays!

My husband and I were looking for a place to sit and over look the water but didn’t want to travel far nor into the city. We were on our way to another establishment when we saw Dolphin. Figured why not lets check it out. Service was very nice but unfortunately took long. Not sure if the server was the only one taking care of the outside tables. It was fairly full outside. I think I may have seen one or two others briefly in passing, maybe they were taking care of the inside and the other outside section. I honestly can’t tell you. She was very nice and apologetic, checking up on us. My husband had the herb infused chicken. He ate it so I guess he liked it. I had raw clams, oysters and shrimp. He had a clue moon draft and I had The Char made with bourbon. It was… interesting, lol. The atmosphere was nice, cool calm and collected. View of the water, boats passing by, wind blowing in my hair, sun setting but still shinning on us. It was relaxing. Maybe I’ll go back with a small group of people. Not sure that I would order the food again. Thank you Dolphin. PS: This used to be Whiskey Rio years ago for those who hung out in the area.

I went for lunch and was very disappointed Service was pretty bad but the food was worst. Started to order the curry crab soup but took the waitress advice that the soup of the day was very good. First mistake Soup was a bean soup with a tomato broth What I received was beans in the marinara sauce that you get when you order fried calamari Disgusting to say the least Then I ordered the curry crab was pretty good Next I ordered the vegetables preserve Wrong choice I thought pita humus olives, tomato bean salad with red onion and what could go wrong Everything they thought vegetarian meant no flavor wrong, wrong, Vegetarian food must be well seasoned. I wanted some hot peppers or sauce or maybe even salt and pepper just the basics, Next fried calamari it was over cooked and chewy With the same marinara as the soup I was too afraid to send anything back so I paid 36 dollars and left still left hungry I went down the block to Yonkers brewing co. and I am so glad I did. Things that need improvement Once I returned the soup the waitress still allowed the Busboy to deliver my my replacement. Next the food was left not even half eaten when I asked for my check, the waitress ness asked about my food, or experience or even why I left so much of the food uneaten, she was unconcerned even though she did not deliver any food to me the busboy delivered everything he should have received the tip as well. I have been in customer service for 30. years and the one thing that I am sure of, people will forgive bad food if they get good service, but they will never forgive bad service, and bad food. Please read that review next because I left the dolphin and went down the block to Yonkers brewing company. I am so glad I did. Pictures before and after as you can see I left most of it on the plate.

I have eaten brunch at the dolphin twice and had two fairly different experiences. The first time my wife and I went here for brunch we were largely ignored by our server. My wife ordered the bottomless mimosas and only got two before we had to leave… The second time our server was there much more consistently and it was a way better experience. The food was definitely on point both times even if the portions were slightly on the smaller side for the price we were charged. All in all I might update this review later if the customer service continues to mirror our second experience rather than our first. Otherwise this will remain three stars, possibly two.

Such a pretty restaurant! Dolphin Restaurant is located at the Yonkers Waterfront and on a sunny day(which happened to be the day I was there) it has a gorgeous view. It was a little too windy to sit outside and really enjoy the atmosphere but they had the windows open so it was nice to have a little breeze and look at the water while dining. A friend and I went there for lunch — the restaurant was not crowded(I didn’t expect it to be) so we were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch. We both order the lobster ravioli which was delicious. The dish consisted of about four lobster raviolis with shrimps and scallops in a creamy sauce. It was absolutely delicious — only the portion size was a little small or maybe because it was so good I wanted more — you be the judge! I didn’t order an appetizer so that I could get dessert — Peach and Crème Brulee! OMG it was soooooo good! I will definitely be ordering that again on my next visit. I would fully suggest going to Dolphin, especially in the Spring, Summer, Fall months to take in a breathtaking view and enjoy a really good meal.

Delicious food and drinks in a trendy atmosphere! We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the first thing we noticed was Dolphin’s great bar and lounge space. There are several couches and tables along with ample seats at the bar– it looks like a really fun place for happy hour or late night drinks. We ordered the cajun popcorn shrimp, the lobster ravioli, and the skirt steak. The food was delicious! Very tasty, fresh, and flavorful. We also tried some of the cocktails and wines on their drink menu. The specialty cocktails are delicious and their wine pours are very generous. I’ve seen a few comments on Unilocal about the service being slow. This restaurant is definitely on a fine dining pace(slow enough to enjoy your experience), but I have to agree that food service could be quicker. We noticed that our food was not piping hot when it arrived. Definitely not cold, but it made me wonder if it was ready awhile before it made it to our table. But I must say that Jimmy, the manager, was fantastic. He walked past our table twice and took the time to stop and ask us if we needed anything. We had such an enjoyable evening we decided to spend some time in the bar area before heading home. Great experience overall and we will definitely be coming back!

I don’t quite understand the bad reviews about this place. I’ve had numerous dining experiences here and I’ve never been disappointed. If you happened to have an odd or disappointing experience here, I really suggest giving it another shot. I came in today for the first time in a while, the recent reviews made me think this place had gone down hill so I had to see for myself. Dining space was clean as usual, the ambiance was comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was perfect… as usual. Tried two new things today, the mixed green salad with balsamic which was fresh and delicious, and the paella… I will be dreaming about this dish until I have it again which will be soon. I also had a lovely cappuccino here, it was honestly better than most I’ve had, even at coffee-snob café’s. The prices here are very reasonable, $ 20 for a huge portion of paella and $ 7 for a fresh and large salad. I’ve had fast food that’s costed more… and this is quality stuff. I always enjoy eating here, they’ve yet to disappoint me. Kudos to the chef and the management.
