History
Established in 2009.
A family venture started by this young husband and father turned Owner, who with his wife, the mother of their two young children under the age of 5, decided to make a comprehensive gastro pub/neighborhood spot where good food and wholesome good times could be had. He, the youngest son of his parents who hail from County Clare, Ireland and his wife, the daughter of a German immigrant and World War II Vet, decided to make their food representative of what they knew. This resulted in some fantastic American style food classics with undertones reminiscent of Hearty German Fare but not to overlook the authentic and traditional Fish & Chips of the Emerald Isle. They added the 1,900 bottle state of the art wine cellar to round out their offerings. They soon caught the attention of local artisans of many different mediums and have been The Westchester Tavern Pub and Wine Cellar featuring the Den of Creativity ever since.
Meet the Business Owner
Brian M.
Business Owner
Brian, a proud native of the Bronx remained there until his career as a stockbroker took him out west to settle in San Francisco. As most transplants find, one of the many things he missed most was the tastes unique to his home, the East Coast. He found himself as many displaced New Yorkers do longing for a slice of pizza or for some good wings. Meanwhile, he was being introduced to the many culinary delights that San Fran had to offer. He spent many days visiting Fisherman’s Wharf & other culinary hot spots throughout the city. This is also where he would take excursions to Napa Valley and develop his deep appreciation for a good bottle of wine. On a trip back home he met his wife. With the birth of his children, a son and later a beautiful daughter, he decided to pursue a career in what he enjoyed. He & his wife set out to simply prepare naturally sourced food with great intention & a huge amt of care that taste good enough to feed his family & friends. The Westchester Tavern was born.
