i disagree with many of the assessments regarding the receptionists. i have been a patient at this practice since 2012 and i have developed a great relationship with everyone in the offices. i had an emergency on a friday and kathy (the receptionist) came in with a technician to address my medical concerns. on a friday, when the office is closed. that is a gesture above and beyond the call of duty. also, dr. potter gave me his cell phone number in case i needed to contact him on fridays. i just called kathy and asked to be seen today. she was not even in the office yet and most graciously accommodated my request. i don’t know what your problem is, ladies, but i suspect you think you are shopping at south coast plaza. grow up.

When I started going here, I was told that I would have braces for 2 years. Understandably this only serves as a rough estimate. However I had braces for over 5 years, more than twice what we were quoted. The extensive time in which I had braces has left my teeth with irreparable damage. I have had several fillings, which my dentist attribute to my brackets. Tomorrow I go in for a root canal because of the 5 years a band was on my molar. Appointments rarely ever led to progress and it wasn’t until I forced them to make more drastic changes that progress was seen. We came every two weeks to see results, but this was only after extensive prodding from us. I do not recommend this orthodontist to anyone. Results will be small, slow, and impersonal. Save yourself the future pain, go somewhere else!

Dr. Potter is great! Don’t listen to the gripes about the wait time or the staff. When do you EVER leave ANY medical office 100% happy with the front staff and your appointment wait time? Be realistic, people!
You pick an orthodontist because they help your child’s smile be it’s best using the latest techniques, and they do that at a cost you can afford. Dr. Potter does that! He doesn’t pull kids’ teeth, but instead expands the palate, making room for teeth to begin the straightening process.
At every appointment he personally checked my child’s progress himself. He also personally checked my child’s progress during the follow up years. I have always walked in the back area where all the assistants and chairs are at, and spoken with him directly about any needs I had (broken retainer, tooth soreness, anything.).
Also, he offers 0% financing for ortho, which I loved! Diva Moms: Stop the complaints, get up, walk to the back and talk to Dr. Potter! He his warm, welcoming and has always done a great job communicating with me. We have had two kids go through his care and couldn’t be happier. My daughters love the clear retainers too!
FYI: Dr Potter is also a proud supporter of local schools in Fullerton and Yorba Linda (and probably more I don’t know about). If you ever want him to support something at your kids’ school, ask him! All around great ortho!

Yes the staff is not friendly and can even be rude. My daughters head gear constantly keep breaking and then the staff would not even try to squeeze us in. She would have to go weeks without her head gear. I never felt like anyone really cared. I would recommend finding another place which is what I plan to do with my younger child.

I am a 48 year old and just got my braces off. I am SO HAPPY! My teeth look amazing! Dr Potter is an excellent orthodontist and would certainly recommend him. Chirs is the Ortho assistant that predominantly took care of me for the year and half while getting adjustments, She is super kind and was so accommodating. As far as the comment about a «cattle call», I have to disagree. I have two daughters that went to another Ortho some years ago and it was the same there. Lots of kids and some adults coming in for adjustments. I would expect to wait. The staff has always been kind to me. Vivian, the insurance coordinator is so nice and enjoyed chatting with her when I made payments. The most important thing to consider is the outcome of my teeth and I am so pleased!

I couldn’t agree more with the other reviewers. We paid for three kids up front here so we were committed and couldn’t change providers. You are just a number here, the wait time is ridiculous and some of the assistants are downright rough and unpleasant with your kids. The previous reviewer who said «cattle call» had it right. They are only in this office on Monday and Wednesday and then in Fullerton on Tuesday and Thursday. Then they are closed Fridays so good luck getting a convenient appointment or in quickly in an emergency. They are also not good about keeping you as a parent updated on your kids progress because you are supposed to sit in the waiting room and not go in the back.

Total cattle call! I made the mistake of going here with two of my children. Will not repeat that mistake again. Front desk ladies can be rather snippy and apathetic. Not the first think you look forward to when walking into the office or trying to get assistance. Do your research and go elsewhere!

I agree with the other lady who said it is a cattle call. Each visit is about an hour plus. Also, when you deal with the receptionist they can’t be bothered. I hate to schedule an appointment with them.

I also agree with the other lady debbie it is exactly like a cattle call, the front desk seems always bothered and to busy to listen to your concerns about your time as if that doesn’t matter, they need to come up with a more pleasant staff that wants to try to accommodate the patients.

Great orthodontist. But if you have to be somewhere, don’t come here. Every time I came in, even having an appointment, the wait is terrible. It’s like a cattle call in this office. About a half a dozen chairs or more that all fill up and one orthodontist rotating between all of them. Meanwhile, you come in, place your name on the list, sit, and wait and wait and wait until it’s your turn. Huge staff but appears to be more than it can handle.
