History

Established in 1890.

After a 2-​year apprenticeship (1890 – 1892), Ammon Koller opened a furniture and undertaking business under the name of Geiple and Koller. In 1899, the establishment became A.F. Koller Furniture and Undertaking. From 1919 to 1942, Ammon’s son, Claude F. Koller, joined his father in the business at 1415 West Market Street in York, PA. The furniture business was sold in 1949, and Ammon Koller moved the funeral home to its current location at 2000 West Market Street in York, PA in 1950.

Robert F. Koller, Ammon’s grandson, received his license in funeral directing and purchased the family business in 1953, changing the name to Robert F. Koller Funeral Home.

Eileen Koller, daughter-​in-​law, joined the business, completed internship and was licensed in funeral directing. In 2001, Eileen Koller changed the name to the present-​day Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc.

Eileen Koller graduated from Moravian College with a B.A. degree and graduated in 1986 with highest honors from Catonsville Community College Mortuary Science Program.

She joined her father-in-law’s business at R. F. Koller Funeral Home in York, PA. Following internship, she was licensed in funeral directing.

In 2001, Eileen Koller changed the name to the present-​day Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc.
