Food is fresh and absolutely PHENOMENAL but prepare to wait and wait and wait… Service leaves a LOT to be desired and never got drink refills. Ended up taking most of my dinner home because I couldn’t eat any more with nothing to drink to rinse it down. Plates are plastic and paper napkins though the food is higher quality than the dinnerware its served on/with. I will definitely return, but for take out service only.

Any good I’ve ever got here was delicious! The wait staff is wonderful and friendly. It does seem a little too dark in the restaurant and the booth need a make over, they had rips in them.

Called in a to go order for a Stromboli and when picked up noticed there was no Marinara dipping sauce. Asked for sauce and was told it would be an extra charge. Every other Italian restaurant in the area includes sauce with their Stromboli, guess they can afford the 5 cents it costs for the half cup of sauce. Also the Sromboli was half the size of others we get in the area from othr restuarants for same price point. To add, it wasn’t very good. Very little deli meats and had American cheese in it, that was a first(cheap). What is so Italian about American cheese? Come on Marinos think about it…

I love the pizza here. Prices aren’t bad and the food is great. Some of the booths look like they could use some work with torn seats and what not. Minus that it’s a tasty meal that they deliver here. Recommended if you’re in the area

This place is great! Non chain and great food and service. What more could you ask for? The kids love the spaghetti and I am hooked on their Greek salads, which are the best I’ve ever had! And the cannoli’s… YUM!

What a wonderful relaxing lunch. Joe was our server and he was excellent. The inside is very homey and has the cleanest restrooms I’ve ever seen. I had the manicotti, excellent and Ron had the veal parm his serving size was large and he enjoyed it. All in all it was a very nice lunch. Definitely going back.

Bottom Line: A family friendly restaurant serving comforting Italian cuisine including pizza. Marino’s isn’t gourmet but it is family owned, local and comfortable. What I like abut Marino’s is the quaint atmosphere including cozy booths and dim lighting. There is definitely an air of old school elegance here. It may be a small thing, but I like the awning over the entrance and that they have an «arctic entry» to keep the cold air from blowing on patrons when the door opens. I also like that they have Sicilian pizza and make their own pasta. They also have a delicious house dressing. The prices are reasonable so its a great spot to take a family.

Unpretentious but with a family style attention to detail. Good food, good price and good service. We’ll be back.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. We usually hit it in mid-afternoon when things are slow. Service is excellent, lighting is low, and the oldies background music not too loud. The Greek salads are super, according to my wife. I almost always get the ham roll(but without ham and with onion instead). I guess that makes it a pepperoni roll. The subs aren’t anything to get excited about. We do like the pizza, too. This place hits us just right. We keep coming back.

The Italian wedding soup here is the top of the scale. The pasta dishes are just ok but not remarkable. I would not make a special trip to go to Marino’s but if you’re stuck in York and need some food that’s decent, decent food is here in abundance. Support the little guy instead of Olive Garden.

We’ve been eating at Marino’s for over a decade. Noticed a significant decline in the past two years. Dining in is not recommended. The place appears to be run and staffed by a bunch of teenagers. That would explain the slow inattentive service and lack of cleanliness. All I would recommend from Marino’s is pizza through the take out window. Everything else is inconsistent and over priced. FYI — they have no clue what a fresh mushroom is!

We couldn’t decide on a place to eat pizza and we came across this place. We did read some of the reviews here but we still went. They do not serve single slices of pizza. You must buy a whole over priced extremely bland tasting pizza. It was some of the worst we have had. Their chopped steak sandwiches are terrible too. I can’t recall if it was steak or chicken but water has more flavor. It is way over priced for what you get. Choose somewhere else.

Can’t beat the pizza here, best in York in my opinion. The only thing that would give this 5 stars would be a little more chew to the crust, but this really, really picky. Other than the pizza, after going here for over 15 years, I’ve only had a salad. They have a great white zinn vinaigrette.

Very underwhelming. The chop steak(Philly-style cheese steak) was meaty but I barely noticed the provolone cheese; the mushrooms were not well chopped and presented as big chunks. After about 4 of the side fries, I had to push them aside. They tasted like they’d been under a heat lamp for over an hour; they were so dry. No amount of vinegar or seasoning was going to salvage them. I haven’t tried the entrees, but based on this lunch experience, I doubt I’ll want to bother.

I’ve been eating at this restaurant for several years now. I cannot rate the pizza or stromboli, because the first time i went here i had a dinner that was fantastic. Every one since then has been great too. Can’t bring myself to test the pizza because i don’t want to miss out on another great dinner. The service has always been good, with the worst experience still being acceptable.(15% rather than 20%) Maybe if i can get to this end of town closer to lunch time, i will be able to make myself try the pizza :)

My girlfriend recommended this place after a morning of shopping at Target. Stand alone business next to York VW, basic no frills dining room. We stopped for a early dinner around 3:00 pm, we had a excellent server who was very informed about the menu items, staying on top of the refills and plates. Food was on the pricey side as other reviewed have stated. She got the chicken alexander which was chicken breast with spinach, ham, cheese with a alfredo sauce, good sized piece of chicken allowing for a doggy bag to take home. I ordered the veal parm with choice of sauce and pasta which I thought was really nice being able to pick between four sauces and six pastas. Veal had a very good breading, but was dark sliced unevenly and hard to cut even with a knife. Need to go to Santinos in Wyomissing Pa. and order the veal steak, that’s a veal steak, cut it with your fork! When we return I will skip the veal and try another menu item with the chicken. PS: ordered a single meatball to sample, excellent meatball, very soft texture and served in a basic meaty red sauce.

This is my kind of place. A small, family-owned Italian place with GREAT service and even better lunch specials. I had the meatball sandwich lunch special, and it was one of the best meatball sandwiches that I’ve had in awhile. Left this place full and happy for under $ 10.

Calzone was incredibly greasy and the dough was burnt. I got the mozzerella sticks as an appetizer and the sauce that came with it was way too chunky to dip. Everything is also over-priced. This place is famous because it’s been around forever, but it’s definitely not that impressive compared to other italian restaurants in the area. I think they’ve fallen off their game and the quality of food has dropped. Service was also slow and lackluster.

I have eaten A LOT of pizza in my day(who hasn’t, really?) and I can honestly say Marinos is the BEST pizza in all the land. So delicious. The cheese is perfect(not too much, not too skimpy), the sauce just right(tangy, but not overpowering), the crust had that nice fold-able quality without being soggy. The atmosphere is great, its just like you imagine a nice family run Italian place to be. There are always a bunch of kids around, so it seems extremely family friendly. They do serve all sorts of other Italian foods, but I have only ever had the pizza, and judging from that, I’m sure the entrees rock as well. The only downside to Marinos that I can tell is that thier toppings are a tad on the expensive side. I love you Marinos. Wish you were here.
