Genoa used to be our go to place. They have new owners now since May 2015 and they have really gone down hill. We were gone for the winter and when we came home tried to order, but the phone just rang for 3 days. My wife started asking questions and finally was told they were new owners. They changed hours and worse of all the recipe for the pizza. Now they use too much tomato sauce, not enough cheese — very disappointing. What used to be 5 star is –1 star. We are looking for a new place. These people will be out of business soon if they don’t change their ways.

We have had a bad experience in the past with Genoa Pizza in Yorkville and not ordered in years. Upon recommendation we decided to try again. My wife order food at 7:20pm and was told it would be 1hr 15mins. After an hour and 35 mins still no food. Called in and the guy was not even apologetic and said food was ready but he was waiting on a driver. Time to pass blame and not take accountability. Time 8:55. He said«I told you it would be 1 hr 15 mins.» Wow, bad math and bad attitude! It is now 9:30pm. Tried calling numerous times and no answer. Apparently time to dodge upset paying customers. Upon typing this driver showed up and my compensation is a $ 10 credit on next order for waiting 2 hrs 10 mins. Well, this goes unsaid but there will be no next time and I will make sure it is not a first or a next time for anybody else. Worst service ever.

We used to order Genoa all the time, but they started going downhill recently. Today, we called and were asked to hold, but got hung up on. We called back and the girl was extremely rude, finished our order, didn’t ask how we were paying, and didn’t tell us how long the pizza would take to get here, then hung up. I don’t know what’s happened to this place, but this is the last time we spend any of our money there.

Complete crap. Ordered food through a service app and never even went through. Cakes and called the restaurant n 2:00 mins of ringing. No answer. Now I don’t have dinner for my family.

Just got ripped off went for their Wednesday special… one topping 8.99; I was charged 14.65…obviously they spotted me as new and put it to me for my substandard pizza, which was Luke warm when I got to my hotel a few blocks away. Never again will I go there and I am here for the summer. Not good like Rosati’s or even Mike and ‘Denise’s. r

I hate wrtining reviews like this but this one just needed said… Let me be clear this is by no means the forst appalling experience I have had woth them either. We ordered our food and after an hour plus of waiting called to check on it. We were told it had just went out the door. We are one mile from this location. Over twenty mins later the driver arrived with a cold nasty pizza and a mystery sandwich we did not order instead of the breadsticks we did order. All the food was near inedible and clearly not fresh. I called to see what they could do to make this right only to deal with an argumentative, excuse making, nasty excuse for an empolyee. He told me I WASWRONG… That I got the food I had ordered and that despite my telling him the food was cold that I was also wrong about that. He then HUNGUP on me and made no real apologies or offered anything that would make it right. He did offer to give us the food we paid for and did not receive but this is a no brainer not a gesture of good will. If you enjoy your pizza with cold and with a side of rudeness I highly recommend this place!

Don’t order pizza or anything from here unless you order 2 hours ahead. I thought the first time ok maybe busy, 2nd time? Simply annoying. Both took 2 hours while they don’t call to tell you it’ll take an extra he longer. So third time we called on. 40mins they say. Still took almost an hour and half. The pizza is ok but not worth such a weight. I can understand an under staffed busy night but every time is to much. So plan well ahead for your order.

Our preferred non-chain pizza place. Not the best, but better than a lot of other local options. We order the pan pizza(thicker crust) with ham & pineapple, or sausage & green pepper. With our first delivery the toppings had all slid off the side of the pizza. We spoke with the manager and got money off our next pizza. We gave them a second chance and have had good experiences ever since with both pick-up and delivery. Our pizza is always hot and our order has never been mixed up. It is always done and/or delivered when they say it will. We only order pizza, so I can’t comment on the other menu choices.

Easily the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Pan pizza? The pan pizza has a hard thin crust. Never again. Never, never again. Do not order this pizza unless you have no clue what the difference between good pizza and bad pizza is. I will go buy a Jack’s pizza from Jewel before I eat this pizza again.

2 very distinct pieces of body hair in my food, so gross!!! Absolutely no desire to order pizza from them again. And no, its not mine, as a female mine would be distinctly much longer. Excuse me while I go try using some mouthwash to sanitize my mouth!!!

Not good pizza, at all. It’s cheap, sure, but you get better quality grabbing a Take and Bake from the grocery store. When we opened the box the cheese was translucent and thoroughly unappetizing. The dough was weird. Sauce was bland. We had first tried Genoa’s 6 years ago when we first moved to the area and weren’t impressed. Someone recently told us they really liked this pizza so we thought we’d give it another shot. Sorry, it’s not good. We are self proclaimed pizza connoisseurs, and as such I’d say maybe our standards are a little higher than most, but that’s just not the case here. Maybe they will step it up and change their recipe. At least get some quality cheese.

I ordered this pizza twice. I am not a fan. The guy at the counter was very nice and friendly and they had a very good deal. Too bad that the pizza is pretty much flavorless.

Nothing but dough. Ordered two pizzas, a cheese as well as a sausage. The sausage itself wasn’t bad but you had to hunt for both the sauce and the cheese on both pizzas. All you really tasted was the dough which dominated each bite. It was as if they doubled up on the dough, poured canned sauce on it and sprinkled a miniscule amount of cheese onto the pizza. Ordered from here before but this will be the last.

Great pizza, love that their sauce is slightly sweet! Awesome cheesy beef! One of my favorite places to go to. They have a very friendly staff, they are quick on their deliveries, and have great specials. If you have a taste for pizza try this place it’ll definitely satisfy your needs.

Found the pizza to be really good. Friendly staff. Location is small but seemed really clean to me. Perhaps they read the last review and cleaned there act up. I would say if your looking for good pizza in «Yorkville» this would be your closest thing to Chicago pizza.

Their pizza tastes good and fresh. I agree that some area pizzerias are better, but Genoa is definitely a place to consider. They have excellent deals and coupons as well as a huge selection of Italian cuisine. Not the best, but definitely a competitor!

Average pizza at good prices. Not the best pizza in the area, but sometimes you can’t pass up their deals.
