The Czechbox Bakery provides commission baked goods based on seasonal offerings and special-​occasion requests. Please join our email list or friend us on Facebook if you would like to learn what we have available at any given time. We try to bake something special at least every two months.

We are a cottage food business, which basically means we don’t have a store front. CBB is run out of my kitchen and is not inspected by the FDA. (The rules about a cottage food are very explicit that I tell you that last bit.) It also means I cannot do mail-​orders. I can advertise on the internet, and take orders, but all sales must take place face-​to-​face.

We are still growing and learning how to run a bakery, so please be patient with us. As I learn to make our other recipes in a production manner, I’ll let you know on our Facebook page.

My great-​grandmother was a native born Czech from the village of Veselí in the Moravian province. She came to the United States when she was 8-​years old in 1914. She was part of my life until I was 30-​years old and we baked together on many occasions. I will always remember her little yellow car coming up the driveway on Sundays, bringing us some of the pastries or strudels she had made.

I lost my grandma in 2012. We were baking together until the week before she passed. Grama’s Czech music was always playing in the background whenever we baked together, or we would sing one of the dozen songs she had taught all of us as kids.

I loved spending that time with both of them. They are some of my most cherished memories, and I intend to preserve that heritage by continuing to bake their recipes for all of you.
