Perfect place to stay after a long drive. Jake was very friendly and considerate, he gave us a room next to our car (without being asked). He also rushed immediately to give us some extra blankets and pillows that were delivered within two minutes of being asked and he went as far as to give us a quick tour of the room and its accessories. Thanks Jake!
The motel also has a free breakfast and WIFI, which is greatly appreciated.

Had to stay overnight because of weather reasons and I didn’t want to drive highway 96 at night. The hotel is a bit rundown and outdated, however, the staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. It was also a good deal!

First off, I will admit I never stayed here. Why? Because the day before my arrival, the hotel staff called me and demanded to know why I booked the room I did. So much for privacy?
I had booked a three-​bedroom suite for my wife and I (plus our two dogs) simply because we like a lot of space when we travel. However, the hotel staff kept pressing me on the phone why I needed so much space for just two people, etc. I finally got very frustrated at their inability to listen and bugger off, told them I would cancel the reservation and stay somewhere else, and hung up the phone on their incessant chatter. I mean, really: Who calls a guest with a reservation and demands to know why they booked the room they booked? So rude.
NEVER in my life have I ever had a hotel question my reservation, and considering I am Choice Hotels Gold Member, etc., I found this to be unacceptable. My wife and I just stayed somewhere else in town and had a wonderful weekend laughing about this place every time we drove by it.

Rude people behind counters like others have said. I go to eat breakfast at the front and the guy asks me what room I am. He claims there were problems. I ask what is wrong, and he mumbles something gruffly. The couple who own it are definitely not morning or night people.

Place was run down, smelled moldy, and bathroom was missing some lights. The next morning, went down to get breakfast. I made toast with butter and since the cold butter was hard to spread, it took a while. The woman at the desk, I’m guessing the owner, told me to take it to my room in a rude and loud voice. It’s just another way to say get out even though I wasn’t planning to eat there because there’s no place to sit. I didn’t like the look she gave me out the door to start my day off.
Plus my phone didn’t charge all night because the lamp outlet was broken. Thanks.

Stayed here on a weekday night. Asked for a non-​smoking room and was assigned Room 47. The whole room smelled like stale smoke and cleaning solutions. Good thing this wasn’t my first rodeo and had brought Febreeze with me. After opening all the windows to air out the room and treating the whole room and carpet w/​Febreeze, it was bearable. It wasn’t until the next day that I realized WHY the room smelled like smoke — Room 46 next door is a SMOKING room. Not such a bright move by owner/​management.
The toilet ran all night. I reported it, so I hope it was fixed. The rate I was quoted over the phone was different than what was quoted when I arrived, though that was easily sorted. Fridge worked well. Bathroom was clean and serviceable w/​nice hot water and good water pressure. Good job on the lamp choice! Two bedside lamps that had easily located switches and plugs for laptops or phone chargers! REALLY liked not having to move furniture to locate a plug for my electronics. The bed linens and comforter were clean and relatively new — nothing special, but also not shabby. Free wi-​fi and tv worked without any problems.
Re: pets — apparently there is a $ 20 deposit per dog and a $ 10 fee for the pet lodging. The clerk told me that if I «tried to keep the dog off the bed» they would waive the $ 20 deposit. I understand the desire to keep pets off the furniture; one never knows how clean the dog is or how well-​behaved, but this criteria seemed arbitrary and half-​hearted to me. The stale smoke smell in the room should have been a greater concern.
Bfast served 6:30 — 9:30, but didn’t make it. My guess is that it was all carbs and no protein, and the section of the lobby where bfast was served didn’t alter my suspicions. I went to the drive-​thru Starbucks 3 minutes south of the Econo Lodge, and was a happy traveler.
All in all, it was a decent place for the price. I’ve definitely experienced worse, but still, I probably won’t stay here again.

If I could give a lower rating than 1 star I would. I have never experienced such terrible customer service nor been treated so rudely. We checked in after a long day of driving looking forward to some rest. To begin with the owner charged us more than the online listing but we rolled with it. Then the owner and his wife called our room after seeing that we had three people staying in the room. When we offered to come down and pay the extra money he started yelling at us calling us dishonest liars and threatening to call the police (a completely irrational thing to do when someone just offered to give you more money). Finally we hang up and go down to the office to try to sort the situation out. He starts trying to ask us to give him even more money it starts at $ 7 then he says he need $ 20 then $ 50. This guy is nuts and unreasonably aggressive. All the while he is yelling and pointing at us and giving us no opportunity even speak. At this point I don’t even want to stay at this place anymore and am willing to go find another hotel even though its nearly 1am. However he refuses to give us a refund. Finally we give him another $ 10 and just walk out of the office hoping he won’t cause us anymore trouble. He follows us out and watches us going into our room which is weird and creepy. After all this commotion I got a horrible nights sleep. Do not stay at this place. I never bother to write Unilocal reviews but this was so awful I felt the need.

and paid in advance. Attendant appeared to have already rented the room out when we arrived and came across aggressively in trying to tell us we had reserved the room improperly. CLEAR BAIT AND SWITCH…
He kept referring to Expedia when we booked through
AND he NEVER EVEN ASKED MY NAME.
Unscrupulous business practices, he said i could call
for a refund when he knew full well that his hotel had a NO REFUND POLICY.
Flat out took our money and sold the room to someone else.

, they dropped my call after Midnight.
ZERO IF I COULD GIVE IT THAT.

Decent. Probably a 2.5, rounded up. Friendly fellow (owner?) behind the counter when I checked in. He asked me several times if I had a dog with me. That was sorta weird.
Old, old, old space heaters built into the wall of each room. Heaters don’t work very well and are super dangerous. Definitely not something you can leave on all night long, so my room got freezing during the night.
Decent bed, decent bathroom. Nothing to write home about, but good enough for a $ 40 room halfway between SF and PDX.

We booked a room here for a family reunion this past weekend. Before we had even checked in, several family members reported that the man at the desk had been rude to them; so rude in fact that they’d gone elsewhere. I was surprised, because he had been pleasant to me on the phone.
When we pulled up to check in, we had an extra person with us. The guy threw a fit, accusing us first of bringing in a bunch of kids, and then of having two or three extra people. Instead of just calmly informing us that an extra person would be an extra charge, we got a blustering 15 minute lecture about how we were trying to rip him off, how no one understands how motels work, etc etc. We had pulled right up in front of the door in our car; it wasn’t like we were being sneaky.
This went on even after I expressed to him that I now understood the policy, and was willing to pay for the extra person. He was still talking as I went out the door, even after I had already asked him to just give us the key and let us go on our way.
The room itself was clean, run down, and met the absolute minimum standard of what you would expect in a motel. Other family members reported excessive noise in their room all night from other guests, but our room was quiet.
I doubt we’ll have an occasion to stay in Yreka again, but if we do, it probably won’t be here.

Mi marido y yo stayed here one night on our way south on I-​5. The clerk was pleasant and competent. Our room was a bit worn, but had the necessities (shampoo, soap, blow dryer, etc.) including an iron and ironing board! The bed was comfortable.
No this was not a top notch motel, but for a place to crash it was comfortable and convenient and reasonably priced.

I travel through Yreka several times a year. this trip I needed a room with three beds. The hotel is a little run down and in need of upgrading. My room was large and located on the second floor corner so no problems with noise. The only saving grace was the price $ 95 for three bed suite including tax and fees.
Breakfast was served in the small office, donuts and coffee.
I don’t think I will stay again
