Wonderful find! In Yuma on business for two weeks, and I will find time to get back here at least once more. Yummy food and exceptional service. Very authentic German food.

Pretzel, jäger schnitzel and Oktoberfest beer all good… conversation with waitress… Maria… great.

It’s hard to find any German restaurant when traveling, much less a really good one. Das Brau House was a real treat to find in Yuma. Excellent German cuisine, live violin and accordion music, friendly staff. We would definitely eat there again.

I’ve spent many months in Germany, and I can confidently report that the food here is authentic and better than my German ex-​girlfriend could make. I love German food, and I was very surprised to find authentic food here in Yuma. The spatzle was great, and the jäger schnitzel was very good as well. The service was very good. My only complaint is that I lost a few pieces of delicious spatzle off the edge of my plate because the plate was too small for their portions. Liter beers were a nice, authentic touch.

One of the best German restaurants I’ve had. I travel between San Antonio and Phoenix a lot and try as many as I can find. My family makes their own sauerkraut… this place is better than I’ve had in the southwest.

It is hard for me to dock small businesses stars, but the guys lost a couple based on my experience here.
The food was pricey, and it all seemed like pre-​packaged food.
I got a combo meal which consisted of two brauts and two sides, it was around $ 10. I got and extra braut with it and they charged me an additional $ 8. What’s up with this? If I had known one braut is coveted i would have just got two of the meals. This causes me to dock them a star.
Next, I got the potato pancake with apple sauces as my sides. The potato pancake was severely burnt on the bottom. Like they took it out of a package, put it in a pan and had the heat on high. Was very disappointing. Caused the loss of the second star.
I would try the price again, but I would stick to the menu and be sure not to order the potato pancake.

I have been wanting to try this place for some time I just never got around to it last year. I took a friend with me that is German so I figured she would be able to give me a great decision on whether it was close to original. I am a chef so I no good food. The service was excellent, the price was very reasonable and the food was amazing. If you want real German food this place is a must.

This place is special if you like beer, brats or german atmosphere. 5 stars because I love all 3 and had a great dinner here. The food and service were great, and the authentic decorations and atmosphere are a lot of fun.
We both had grilled brats plate. Your choice of sides. The sauerkraut and german potato salad both tasted authentic and unique. The red cabbage was just like my grandmother (from Germany) used to make. The german beer is on tap.
Service was great. The menu is a little hard to read but our server was very helpful clarifying and describing the choices.

Great food. Friendly atmosphere. Good authentic German beer. Some on tap. Thoroughly enjoyed the schnitzel. Comes with choice of sides. I had a potato pancake and red cabbage. My wife had the jeager schnitzel with spaetzle and cucumber salad both excellent as well. Recommend it whole heartedly. Only minus they were sold out of cobbler. Oh well maybe next time.

What a great find in Yuma! As we were traveling from San Diego to Sedona I started looking for a place for lunch and this restaurant popped up with good reviews. Turned out to be all true! Excellent Wiener schnitzel and the spätzle was homemade and very tasty!

The next time I am in the vicinity of SW Arizona in season, I would really like to drive through Yuma just to stop there to eat. The atmosphere is festive and friendly and the food was really great and authentic.

Cannot find good german food in San Diego so whenever we drive to Phoenix we stop in Yuma for this spot. Half way between too.
Like that so much is home made. Recommend schnitzel and spaetzle. They do it right. Cute place. Heard their Oktoberfest is awesome and held in January so you can have more than one in a year.

What a real find in Yuma. Excellent food and authentic Bamberg Rauchbier. Don’t miss the Leberkäse!

It is great to have a German restaurant in Yuma. The food is good and the beers are authentic. The inside is very charming. Service has always been good. Today we had only apps and beers. The three sausage app is the perfect way to have a table sample multiple sausages. Add a pretzel and some beers and you have a great outing.

We came here before and the beer they have on tap is worth coming back for. The house sausage was great. On the other hand I was disappointed with the Rueben sandwich, it was the thinest sandwich I have eaten in a while. Go to the European deli for a ruben.
Today we sampled the sauerbraten and two of the snitzels (zigneuner and the cordon bleu). With spaetzle, red cabbage. It was all good. The sauerbraten was so tender you could cut it with a fork and the sauce was delicious. The spatzle are like crispy butter balls.

I’ve tried German restaurants anywhere I can find them, and this one lived up to be one of the best I’ve sampled. What surprised me was finding this gem in the middle of Yuma, but I guess good food (even German) doesn’t know boundaries!
I started my meal with a pretzel. Standard, nothing too fancy, but honest and good. It had a light brushing of butter, which added a subtle but pleasant element next to the sharply salty crunch. Crust: crunchy; dough: soft and velvety; prognosis: very good.
The jaegerschnitzel was quite delicious, though I did miss the bacon from my favorite joint back in Maryland. Still, for a simple mushroom, butter, and cream sauce, it was outstanding. The cutlet was nicely breaded, not greasy at all, perfectly cooked (near fork tender), and still hot and crispy when it came out to the table.
The sides were equally delicious. I had the spaetzle and warm potato salad. The former was soft, but not mushy, and very buttery. Perfectly made, perfectly cooked. The latter was really just potatoes with a light vinegar dressing. Nothing really beyond that, but still good. Not really hot, or even very warm, but still delicious.
I couldn’t find room for dessert, but people seem to rave about them here. I’d suggest going with someone, splitting an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. Believe me, the portions are huge. There is a split plate fee, but you’ll save money still. Of course, if you’re like me, you’ll want to try a little bit of everything, so use your best judgment. Maybe try one of each course, and take the leftovers home. :)
Some have stated that the price is a little steep. First off, that depends on what you order, but I didn’t see a single entrée over $ 20. That’s excellent pricing for a German place, believe me! Second, my meal included an appetizer, an entrée (huge!), and a half-​liter of beer. Pre-​tip, but post-​tax, less than $ 30. Honestly, that’s a very good deal for the quantity and quality of food and beverage you are receiving.
Which reminds me, don’t forget the bier! They have a nice selection of your standard German brews, including several from Weihenstephaner and Spaten. And even served in a stein to keep the beer cold! Lovely! And, before I forget… PROST!

Das is gud ya!!! I was so surprised how authentic and comforting the food was!!! My mouth drools with the thought of all the yumminess going on in here! It is just like the motherland itself!
There is plenty of parking out front or on the side street. As soon as you enter you feel like your in a whole other country! This place has authenticity down to the furniture inside. Sitting at the square bench tables made me feel right at home. The customer service was excellent as we were greeted by the owner himself as soon as we entered and from beginning until the end the waitress was super!
Bratwurst, Schnitzel, and Black Forest Cake Oh my! The menu is full of all the traditional meals and you don’t want to choose just one item! I like how you can do the ½ or full portions because trust me with ½ I was almost walking out of there like a roley poley lol!
I ordered the Jäger Schnitzel with potatoes and cucumber salad. My eyes close and one bite turned into the plate being completely empty!!! Everything was fresh and a masterpiece of perfection yumminess!
After my main meal I could not resist the German Cheesecake that was new to the restaurant. They wanted my opinion and these were my words:

I can’t wait to go back here again and am even willing to make a short road trip every year from Cali to AZ just to comfort my tummy from time to time. This place is open seasonly (6 months out of the year) so before you go make sure to check their establishment hours or you may have a German food Coma for too long haha!

My first time trying German food. I only visited Yuma because I have friends temporarily living there and HAD to try this restaurant. My friend’s brother said the food is very authentic. We were disappointed that the sandwiches are only offered until 4pm and we literally came at 4:05pm and could not order the sandwiches :(. However, we came back the next day at noon :).
We all ordered the bratwurst with kraut and were very satisfied! Best bratwurst I’ve had and the «Bavarian Stef» mustard (the dark one) is SO good. kind of sweet. We also ordered an apple strudel because they were ½ off that morning and I thought it was average. Yummy flaky crust but the apple filling wasn’t that special. My friends also ordered a side of potato pancake (you only get one.) and the spatzle (big portion and very unique but kind of tiring by itself after a while). I think the prices are kind of expensive but maybe not for this type of cuisine.
I highly recommend this restaurant to those visiting Yuma. wonderful and unique experience!

Who knew there was great German food in the midst of Yuma? On our way back from San Diego, we stopped here for lunch and left quite full!
During holiday season, this restaurant is hard to miss! There is a Christmas explosion of electronically moving Santa, an inflatable Harley-​ridin’ Santa on the roof with his crew, and cheerful garlands lining the patio.
Enter the restaurant and you’ll be transported to the charming German grandmother’s house you never knew about until now. Tables are cozy, and the walls are decorated with hand painted murals.
We spent some time looking through the menu before deciding on the currywurst and a sausage platter. The currywurst was excellent. It had the perfect amount of curry with sauce, and the sausage was served in slices on a little dish so you could place it on the soft roll that accompanied it. The sausage itself had a flavorful mix of spices and seasoning. The sausage platter was equally good, and the German potato salad side was excellent.
They were offering 50% off items in their dessert case when we were here, so who was I to pass up a good bargain? I got the bienenstich. It was more of a bread-​like dessert, not too sweet, which I appreciated, with a subtle taste of honey running through the cake.
Service was great, and sometimes they will take pictures of patrons here to post on their Facebook page. You just might see yourself in one of their albums!

Das Bratwurst is a cool little eatery in old town Yuma that oozes Bavarian charm, from the authentic German menu, the fun décor, the great beer selection, the extensive stein collection, all the way down to the uniform that the beer maiden/​waitress wears.
I came in on a recent drive back home from San Diego, guided by Unilocal reviews (thank you!!). It was a bit early in the day to partake of their adult beverages (beer, beer, and Jäger shots!) and I had to drive the rest of the way home, so I stuck with water. I’ll be back…
I was pretty hungry, so I went with the house specialty — the sauerbraten, served with red cabbage and spatzle. Oh, and I added a side of German potato salad (warm, of course — though you do have the option of going chilled).
The sauerbraten was wonderful — two thick slices of tender pot roast with a generous pool of gravy. The beef fell apart easily and was very flavorful. The spatzle was thick and hearty with a nice, firm texture. The flavors were balanced by the sweetness and acidity of the red cabbage. The potato salad was good — warm and authentic — no complaints.
TIP: They do offer half-​portions. I probably should have done that.
The service was exceedingly friendly. They take pictures of their customers, but instead to tacking them to a wall, they post them on their Facebook page. Cool!
If you ever find yourself in Yuma, and are in the mood for some hearty German comfort food (and beer!), then you can’t go wrong with Das Bratwust Haus!

Das Essen ist sehr gut! I had Rouladen, spaetzle and red cabbage = all very fresh and tasty, similiar to how I remembered my German Father cooking these Bavarian dishes. My partner had the German sampler, with Haus Brat, Oktoberfest Brat, a potato pancake and German bread = all tasty. Portion sizes were below average tho’. Our waitress lacked Customer Service skills as she was not friendly and talked loudly to other customers about her recent sickness ‘symptoms’-ewww. Suggest covering the windows that face Yuma’s abandoned, delapidated Yuma buidings, with curtains/​murals. Please add padded seating/​nicer tables to replace those picnic tables & benches. The Apple Strudel was a small dry pastry shell (minus Apples), but the Black Forest Cake was freshly-​made and plentiful. We do wish the owner MUCH success with promoting a different culture here. We’ll go back for a 2^nd opinion :)
