History
Established in 2012.
I have been fascinated with sewn crafts since I watched my Grandma piece quilts on her Singer treadle machine.
My mom helped me hand-sew doll clothes, and later showed me how to make Barbie clothes and stuffed animals on her machine, it did straight-stitch only, and was controlled with a knee pedal. How things have changed!
My focus is no longer doll clothes, or even people clothes…
I have been sewing flags to fly at my own house and have too many designs to use them all myself —
— the answer — make them to sell! But the big flags were beaten by the wind and had a short life relative to the work to make them, so I turned to garden flags.
Design ideas starting keeping me awake at night. A nice problem to have — too many flag ideas for one household to use!
The solution — make flags to sell!

A few years back I discovered flags when we moved to a neighbourhood where it was the custom to fly a full size flag to celebrate the seasons. But on those large flags, the writing would be backwards if you were on the wrong side of it, and the colours weren’t very intense. I made a few of my own large flags to fly, but was distressed that they were susceptible to the wind and the sun out there hanging from the house.
I decided to focus on garden flags, one-sided compact creations that can be protected from the elements while still offering lots of room for self-expression — and starting a home-based business made perfect sense!
