A Touch of Thread is a family run business founded in 2003 by Martha Creasy, a fourth-generation, award winning quilter from Zanesville, Ohio. Her passion for quilting sparked when her mother opened a small quilt shop, The Quilt Bee, in Dresden, Ohio in 1991. In 1995, Martha Purchased her first Gammill longarm quilting machine, and it was «love at first stitch.»
After a trip to Gammill headquarters in West Plains, Missouri, Martha was asked to take her love of longarm quilting to the next level and open her own authorized Gammill dealership. Shortly after opening, her husband Doug made the business his full time career after 23 years in the electric motor repair industry. He is now in charge of all A Touch of Thread deliveries and machine setup, as well as servicing both domestic and longarm machines.
In 2006, with the addition of her mother’s beloved «Quilt Bee» and a full line of Baby Lock sewing machines, sergers, and embroidery machines, the business has grown into a full s
