History

Established in 1999.

The Smile Shack was established in 1999 by Ohio State University graduates Dr. Jeffrey Labishak and his wife Stacy, a hygienist. The Smile Shack steadily grew over the next ten years until the practice was large enough to warrant a brand new office building of its own. In June 2009, Dr. Jeff and his dental team moved into the new Smile Shack office on the north end of Zanesville, which now houses six operatories with all the conveniences and technologies of modern dentistry. For your reassurance, the Smile Shack waiting areas are both spacious and comfortable. There is also a special waiting area just for children, with kid-​friendly TV shows and games. Each operatory has a large window to the outside woodland views and two television monitors — one on the wall and one on the ceiling — for patients who desire to watch cable TV, play Xbox 360 games, or view a calming slide presentation during their dental procedure. Listening to peaceful music through wireless headsets is also available.

Business Owner

Dr. Jeffrey A. Labishak graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995. He then moved to Olmsted Falls, just outside of Cleveland, where he began his career working with a very caring group practice for more than four years. During his tenure with this excellent practice, Dr. Jeff learned many of the good habits and thoughtful philosophies that he lives by now. Primarily, he learned to think of the patient’s needs first and to take the time required to do the work right.

In June of 1998, Dr. Jeff married Stacy Strawser, his Ohio State University sweetheart, and in 1999, their desire to be closer to family brought them to Zanesville, Ohio, where Dr. Jeff opened The Smile Shack general family dental practice. Since moving to Zanesville, Dr. Jeff and Stacy have been blessed with four children: daughters Gabrielle, Halle, and Marley, and son, Grady.
