Potesta’s Pizza Pasta

Big portions!!! A little greasy, but its okay. Their delivery estimate is always accurate so i never had a problem with that all. Must try their hot wings!

I had to give them a star or it wouldn’t let me leave a review but I can’t give them even 1 star! We just ordered dinner and had it delivered and I have to say it was one of the WORSE things I have ever TRIED to eat!!! First of all it took over a hour to get here, Second the pizza was cold and had no flavor, Third the chicken wings were so over cooked and had no meat on them. I paid money to just to throw it all away! I will NEVER order again!!!

Potesta’s is one of those staple restaurants that provide solid fare. Not really award-​winning, but definitely good. Service here ranges from good to great depending your server, and has never been poor. The food quality is consistently good. If the price was higher, I’d rate this place a mere three stars. But considering it’s a place that I enjoy a lot, and you get good food for the cost, they deserve four stars.

The good: Really good boneless wings — the mild sauce is still quite spicy. Bleu cheese dressing is quite chunky. Pizza had tons of cheese and wasn’t heavy-​handed with the sauce.
The bad: It took longer than it should have to get our delivery, and the pizza arrived underdone and far from hot.
The funny: We received fries we neither ordered nor paid for (thanks?). Pizza is cut into comically tiny pieces.

This is the WORST pizza place you could ever make the mistake of going to. They dropped off flyers in our neighborhood so we thought we would try it because the ad offered ½ off on Sunday up to $ 20.00 off. We ordered a deep dish pizza and chicken parmesan. Got there to pick it up and they only discounted the pizza. I questioned the manager why did they not discount the whole order and he stated the offer is only for pizza. So i pointed out the ad does not state it is only for pizza and he said he was aware of it and they printed up thousands that way? Got home and found the deep dish pizza was nothing like any deep dish as it was short every ingredient and slightly more dough than a thin crust and the cheese was just barely melted. The chicken parmesan was really unremarkable and bland. Would recommend any chain pizza over this place, like Domino’s or Little Caeser’s would be better. Do not recommend going here unless you enjoy being ripped off and like mediocre food.

Reasonable prices, speedy delivery, good food. Can’t go wrong. They always have some sort of coupon on their website. Staff is pretty friendly over the phone. Delivery drivers are friendly as well.

This is the worst pizza I have ever had. We moved up here from Chicago area so we are use to good to Great Pizza. This is a waste of your hard earned money.

Absolutely outstanding. Very quick delivery and the food was amazing. I love that they gave me drippings/​sauce for my Italian beef. SO good, i used every drop, and gave me a healthy side of delicious Mariana for my bread sticks and meatball sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, the whole family loved it. Ordered through grub hub and it was an absolutely painless experience. Will definitely become a staple place for me to dine.

Got the BLT thin crust pizza, and the «Waukegan Appetizer Special» along with some sprite.
BLT thin crust was pretty good. Not sure about Potesta’s definition of thin crust, but it’s really just a thinner crust that is still kinda doughy and bready. I generally assume that thin crust tends to mean a cracker thin, crunchy crust. Still good, just not what I thought. I got my pizza in good shape as well, no damage from being slid around or anything like that.
The appetizer included five each of mozzarella sticks, breadsticks, and mini calzones. They’re all pretty good, and while it’s kind of strange, I definitely did get some older oil taste. The mozzarella stick breading tasted super meaty and savory. I like it, but greasy flavor doesn’t always appeal to everyone. The supplied dipping marinara was fantastic; sweet, savory, but not overwhelmingly so.
Prices are fair and the delivery time was fast. My second delivery experience from Potesta’s was just as good as the last time.

I ordered the family spacial that came with bread-​sticks, 2 liter of soda, and a 18inch pizza. It arrived about 45 minutes later. The bread-​sticks were moist and delicious with perfect amount of seasons that you could actually eat without sauce and be happy with but, the pizza cheese and toppings were halfway off the pizza and the box was soaked with grease (I’ve added pictures above.) until it was practically falling apart.
I called and told them about my experience and she said she would make another pizza and bring it here to replace the messed up one and would give me a 100% discount if she seen it personally and deemed it bad too. I personally was not willing to wait another 30 — 45 minutes for another pizza since we have hungry children here. Also, I can go to most other pizza places or restaurants and have some sort of compensation without waiting for someone ells opinion. In the end I got a refund off the pizza and returned the pizza (Against the management wishes.)
The way I see it, I’m the customer and if I deem it unreasonable than I should not have to go through the hassle and time of the manager seeing it. If you were to value customers than dropping an extra 5 dollar appetizer and taking their word for it would in turn be more profitable for you in the future with having a returning customer. Unless a customer repeatedly sends food back to get free stuff. This was not the case with me since this was my first order from there.
I’m not going to order from here after this experience. I’ve worked as a cook for over 8 years and although some may not agree I believe I could have been treated better.

We order Potesta’s pizzas for carryout often. They run a great special after 4pm on Wed and Sun where all pizzas are 50% off (carryout only). The staff is always courteous and the pizza is always ready when they say it will be, which is usually less than 30 min.
