History

Established in 1977.

Checkmates is proud to say that, with 35 years of experience, they have emerged as the best entertainment club in Adelaide. Bucks nights, topless waitresses and many other events can be organized on special requests and as they like to say, «all the dancers and strippers found in Checkmates are down to earth ladies.»

Checkmates has outsurvived all other venues of its type in Adelaide.

It is the only venue that has the facilities to act as a Topless Bar, Strip Club and a restaraunt all in the same venue.

It was sold to the new owners in 2006 who have added a new lease of life into it and being a husband a wife team they put that homely and welcoming feeling into the atmosphere.

The club is known for it’s rather professional and friendly dancers and its fresh and creative atmosphere makes it highly enjoyable for everyone.

Another advantage of Checkmates is its location on the eastern side of Adelaide, which means its far away from traditional trouble areas.

In 2010 Checkmates secured as its manager the iconic Muffy.

Muffy has been in the industry both as a performer and as a venue manager.

With her knowledge and understanding of both sides of the operation it has proved a great assset to her on board.
