This girl(feels like she) is on fire! Jazz tunes, freshly made barista coffee, cute hairdressers and a light, fresh new cut and style to boot makes you feel oh so glamorous walking out of this hairdresser. Quick and super friendly service from the reception staff through to the stylists here is refreshing and worth a couple of extra dollars compared to other salons. The coffee is banging and the flavoured water and almond biscuits are nice extra touches. My hairdresser for the arvo, Dimi, was a doll and a great hairdresser who paid a lot of attention to detail. I really appreciated him not rushing and making sure my style was perfect, even though other customers were waiting. If you want to walk out feeling like a bit of a rock goddess then come and see the folks at Colour Cosmetica!

I was in town for only a weekend and my mother and I were recommended to Colour Cosmetica for a blow dry. The service was wonderful. We were 30 minutes early for the appointment(my fault) and they graciously made us both espresso’s and gave us magazines to read while we sat outside on the quiet street and relaxed. When it was time to get our hair done, the stylist took a few minutes to speak with both of us about what we usually do, what we were looking for, etc. There was no sense of rush whatsoever and my mom has very particular hair so she really appreciated it. Overall, what I enjoyed the most was the pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, the way the stylist took his time with us instead of rushing us and the service. The price is right on as well. $ 35 for a wash and blow dry, regardless of length.

I recently had a facial at Colour Cosmetica when they advertised a half-price special on their Thalgo treatments. I was greeted by friendly staff who gave me a detailed form to fill out. This included personal details, but also skin-related questions on a thorough level. I was also offered a beverage from water to champagne, or a hot drink and it was served very nicely and added a special touch to my wait. I was then ushered into a tiny room that was cosy and comfortable, with trancey music playing on the sound system. I enjoyed it but some may find it a bit upbeat for a relaxation ritual. My therapist and I had a detailed consultation before she started. The facial itself was excellent, but the room location under a staircase meant regular intervals of thumping as people ran up and down above me. On leaving I was given a skin ‘prescription’ outlining recommended products and future treatments. All in all it was a very good and professional experience. In a nutshell — for wannabe beauty students and clients!
