Great Little Place Went and sat outside at Jam Bistro on a lovely day, had the corn fritters that were on special and a pear juice. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the avocado salsa was fresh delicious! The girls were friendly and were very helpful with recommendations. The coffee was also good. 3 of us ate and drank for under $ 50, good value for great quality. Highly Reccomended.

They do the best breakfast in Adelaide. Eggs perfect how you want them. The pancakes come with fairy floss. Coffee is fantastic too. The only drawback is they have Pepsi & not Coke.

We dined here on some kind of web based coupon my wife picked up, you know the deal, pay $ 40 for $ 100 worth of food kind of thing — and we went on a lazy Sunday afternoon while the kids had a playdate at a friends place. It was a set menu, but boy, what a set menu — including wine. Entrée was a platter of assorted delicacies to share, then they gave us a serve of spit roasted lamb each, and rather than the usual carved off meat this was a collection of chopped bones coated in gorgeous crisp meat to tear off. The atmosphere was brilliant — they had a live DJ playing a laid back mix of suitably chilled out music for a sunday recovery session, the crowd was small, and the head chef came out for a chat and his own late lunch. Dessert was a gorgeous brulee, rich and creamy with a crisp, brittle shell on top… yummmmmm! Parking in Wright Street — well, even on a Sunday afternoon we had to do a couple of laps before finding somewhere nearby — a little pay to park car park a few streets down.

Jam Bistro is slightly off the beaten track, a little patch of sunshine on a busy day. If you are heading for the Central Markets and don’t want to sit in a crowded space surrounded by annoying people you can walk a block away and be surrounded by less people and enjoy the same sort of trendy café style. Jam provides everything any of the market cafes provide, with a little less frenetic atmosphere basically. I like to sit outside or up against the open window on a sunny day because it is a reasonably quiet spot. Wright street can get busy but it tends to be mainly moderate most of the time. I enjoy a coffee here and a light snack. They always have an artist on show hanging on the wall and featured on their web site. You can check out the menu and book on line. John Pana is the head honcho, chef and owner and he takes pride in what he does. I’m not sure I really like the conceptual arty rhetoric on the outside wall completely, but hey, I come from a broken family so the idea of celebrating a divorce is not one that rides well with me — I’m actually one of those people who think you need to look for alternatives to breaking up a family, like working on making it work — yes — for the sake of the children. Otherwise you run the risk of destroying their concept of a loving family and all that goes with it for good. Anyway that’s not what you’d be spreading on your toast for breakfast is it; let’s get back to jam. Any criticisms of the design elements from my perspective need to be taken with a grain of salt, and the actual proof is in the pudding, so go check it out on line or in person then make the booking I suspect you will want to make.

This place is cute! I highly recommend it if you feel like having a nice dinner, or want to celebrate a certain occasion over some wine and a pleasant meal. I was taken here for my birthday, and though this bistro does not hold too many numbers I would say it is a nice and slightly alternative location to dine. Its location is a little hidden, and while its not too far from Gougar this slice of Jam is placing Wright Street on the map. The food was cooked well and although there were not too many options on the menu, I have a feeling this may be because Jam The Bistro really does place a greater emphasis on quality. Nothing dodgy here, and although I did not stay at the bistro for dessert, there were a few appetizing selections to get your mouth watering. Also one final bit of two cents, both the weight staff and he whom must have been the manger were lovely. On the night we dined, we used an Entertainment Book coupon entitling us to one free main course and the manager let us re use it. Not to mention that the staff also provided a very thorough taste-testing tutorial regarding our selection of white wine. Overall, happy.
