Umm, why have I not written a review for Peter Alexander before now? I was super-excited when the first store opened in Adelaide(I think it was Burnside), because I’d been ordering online for so long. Now there are a few around, and that’s definitely a good — albeit dangerous — thing ;) I confess to having a PA pj addiction — I have a rather large drawer full, and I have promised my partner that if I ever want to buy any more, I have to throw an old pair out. Do you know how difficult this is? Peter Alexander pjs are gorgeous, hard wearing, and change all the time. Sometimes I love everything in the shop, and sometimes I don’t(luckily!). Prices are average — usually around $ 50-$ 60 for long pj pants — but they last a very long time. I love the fact that you can buy them separately, because personally I hate PJ shirts ;) They also sell basic lingerie, ugg boots(sorry, HOME boots), dressing gowns, sweaters, even some workout gear. Lots of stuff for menfolk, as well as kiddies. Unlike other reviewers, I’m not keen on the sweet synthetic smell in the stores — but hey, I’m not going to deduct a point for that, because the products are gorgeous and the staff are always friendly! What more can you ask for? Oh, and you get gorgeous glossy catalogues sent to your door to drool over if you’re a member. Mmmmm … Need. More. !

Before Peter Alexander rolled into town I owned maybe 1 or 2 pairs of pyjamas… now I have around 10. Some might call it an addiction, I’d say they’d be right. This store is a pink heaven. It smells permanently delicious, it’s actually because of the scented candles they sell. I think the one regularly burning is vanilla or caramel, but gee it’s nice. Maybe that’s what makes people so willing to spend far to much on clothes they can’t leave the house in? (Keep in mind, I have left the house in Peter Alexander pyjamas. I have a pink night dress that makes the perfect fairy outfit when the costume party requires) Beware of developing a habit, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to convince yourself to spend $ 60 on pyjamas. Their designs are changing all the time, and some will sell out quickly. But it means there’s always a new reason to pop into the store.

I’m pretty sure the aroma that comes out of Peter Alexander every single time I stroll on past is some kind of magical potion which is so inviting that it forces you to come in and look at the absolutely beautiful pyjamas etc they have in stock here. Oh lord, they are gorgeous, and so soft! So pretty! I so want some! I mean, I don’t even wear pyjamas! I’m happy just strolling around in my oversized AC/DC t-shirt, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to get out of anything from here. Thank you for coming to Adelaide Peter Alexander!

This store needs a testosterone fuelled review it seems! Well at least one from a male perspective. Peter Alexander is basically a sleepwear store, they sell pyjamas, robes, slippers, and other sleeping ‘tools’. If you need to get something for your partner, regardless of gender, you’ll certainly make them happy with something from here. They do have a range of men’s sleepwear, no where near as much as the women’s range, but what they have is really nice. I would probably sleep in their products if I could afford it. My girlfriend has been hassling me to get her a leopard print onesie from here for a while, but once again price has been a factor. It’s pretty expensive. If you’re asthmatic bring your puffer! I think they must burn a whole lot of incense or pump intense sense into the air in the store. It smells! Not badly, but it’s thick in the air.

This place smells of vanilla! What a very seducing technique from their part. Well, I can definitely say that it works because I always find it very hard to leave this shop. The designs of the pajamas are beautiful and range from cupcakes to Disney motives, flower prints to more plain and decent styles. I could buy pretty much everything in here if I had the money. It’s not cheap and you’re looking at spending a minimum of $ 80. So my first purchase at Peter Alexander is still waiting to be made, but with Christmas coming up and many obvious hints that I’ve given my boyfriend, I’ll hopefully own one of those lovely pajamas soon.

One of my best girlfriends is the proud owner of a Peter Alexander Onesie. it’s purple, it reminds me of a Thneed from The Lorax by Dr. Suess and I am brimming with envy. I am not usually big on Pajamas, but there’s something about paying the same amount you would on an evening frock on an outfit you’re going to sleep in. It can’t be justified, and this is why I so desperately want to be able to afford this kind of senseless luxury sleep wear. I would love to waltz into this store, throw around a bit of cash and take Peter Alexander home to bed with me, but alas for now it’s just window shopping. I think their merchandising is really clever, the clothing is hanging up in wardrobes that line the walls and the mirrors and chests of drawers make it feel like a big bedroom; already psyching customers for sleepy time. The lingerie is pretty sexy, but we all know your man only wants you to dress up so he can dress you down in which case, get him to buy it.

Ah, the pajama king. Everybody has heard of Peter Alexander, and everybody who likes sleeping and bed(two of my favourite things) knows PA is the place to go when it comes to sleepwear. The PJ’s in here cost more than I’d usually spend on clothes for a whole month, but every now and then a girls gotta splurge, right? PA has something for everyone, whether you like comfy jammies, or stylish lingerie. You’ll find something here.
