If you’re sick if the line ups at Sushi Train walk down the street here! There are no line ups and long waits… plus the sushi is better! It may look small on the outside but it’s bigger than you think. Don’t be put off if it looks quiet, as you’ll come out a winner. All sushi plates are still $ 3, making it cheaper. The décor is nice, inviting, and they play soothing jazz music. The only thing is to watch the step going in/out. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They also serve mochi, which I’ve never seen on a sushi train. The chocolate one was good. I’d definitely bring others here to escape the crowds. Why on earth would I ever go back to Sushi Train now?

Use your feet and walk down Gouger Street to this sushi restaurant. NOW! No queuing doesn’t mean poor quality, or poor service, it’s just that’s it not right out front of the markets. Fresh, great food Friendly service Always a table

Hidden gem on Gouger. The quality of the sushi is far better than that of the sushi train near the Central Market end of Gouger. It’s surprisingly quite so you can expect to be seated immediately, it’s only a few months old and I suspect most people don’t know about it because it’s up the other end of Gouger. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the soft jazz music makes the atmosphere nice and relaxing.

Forget the Sushi train, this place is just down the road. It offers amazing sushi at only $ 3 a plate. But they don’t stop there, bento, curry and other Japanese fair is on offer. Staff are friendly and attentive. The thing that stands out most is the quality of the food served. Do your self a favour and give this place a try instead of being herded like cattle at the sushi train on a busy night.

Went to Konnichiwa tonight with my everso fussy 16 year old son who turns his nose up at sushi. and what do you know, he loved it. I loved it too. As we walked through the door we were greeted by a Konnichiwa chorus from all the staff which was very warming. The place is new, modern, minimalist and very clean. The food is fresh, clean, light and exceptionally well prepared. I had a beautifully delicate miso soup and a salmon Omakasa set and my son had, or should I say«swiped» multiple delicacies off the train. Our water was topped up without having to ask by the everso helpful waitress and it came infused with lemon which was very refreshing and a surprise. The devil is in the detail and all details have been attended to here and not overlooked. It was early Friday night. we weren’t there especially long but when we left the restaurant was almost packed. They have only been open a few weeks and as word gets around, which it will, I can see people having to queue at the door! Awesome work.Thankyou.

We went out with East Taste on our minds last night, only to find our that they are closed for a well deserved break. Being rather lazy, we noticed a new sushi bar next door and decided that was the best alternative around. Given it was a Saturday night the restaurant was very quiet, but I think that may be just because it’s new. It’s a very small restaurant with only ‘train’ seating and is decorated with shadow boxes featuring Studio Ghibli and Dragon Ball Z figurines. We ordered the katsu chicken, pork gyoza and tempura prawns and then picked a selection of nigiri and rolls off the train as we went. All the food was fresh and light, and there were some beautiful crab rolls hiding on the train. The gyoza were so tasty and warm, just what we needed on a cold Adelaide night. Tempura is the big test of any Japanese restaurant, and I have so often been disappointed. However, Konnichi Wa excelled, the tempura was light and crisp and didn’t have the oily feel I’ve unfortunately come to expect in Australian Japanese restaurants. Our bill for two came to around $ 65, including beer which we were very happy with. I’ll definitely be back again, maybe I could have tempura for Sunday brunch!!!
