Though, I have yet to experience the true taste of all the 32 available blends of coffee at this fine coffee shop, I have experienced the ‘Toby One’ coffee blend; fantastic, such an awesome tasting coffee! I was here with a few friends just browsing the coffee, and noticed this little coffee shop had a little barista section for tasting and taking away coffee. I decided why not, give it a go, probably one of the best decisions in my life! They coffee is beyond fantastic, and this was a takeaway also which usually tastes less good than the typical mug type coffee. The staff here are probably the nicest bunch of people I’ve encountered in China Town, they even gave me a discount since their efpos machine wasn’t working! Would recommend to pop on by an definitely try every single blend, and I’m being dead serious — every single blend.

I have been going to the Coffee Bean Shop for years now. The market stall only just recently had a face lift, and I am really happy for them! It looks amazing, they really did a great job. I am happy to see that this stall got updated as it is often one of the first stall you see when entering the Markets from the carpark escalators. The staff at this stall are always very friendly and happy to have a chat about the different varieties of coffee and what they taste like. You will find some amazing beans from all over the world. In particular my partner and I are quite fond of the Organic Mexican beans. Full flavour while being quite creamy and nutty. If you have a tighter budget, why not try their house blends. They are not too bad, the espresso blend is probably the best they offer in that range. If you need ground beans, they will grind them to the style that suits your brew equipment. We prefer to grind them at home to ensure that the coffee is fresh. If you are searching for a gift for a coffee lover, look no further! Purchase them an Aeropress which are sold here. They are a single cup air pressure plunger. They make the perfect brew away from home. My partner loves his and uses it at work every day!

Never trust any one who doesn’t drink coffee. True story. If you love coffee(an you should, see above) give the coffee bean shop a visit. You can sift through their numerous brands, flavours and types of coffee. The friendly staff will kindly grind the beans for you, whether your needs are coffee machine or plunger. They have coffee from Africa, South America, and Australia. They make a note of whether the coffee is free range. wait. fair trade, and whether your java isn’t contributing to rainforest devastation, or unfair wages. This is a great place to buy coffee for your loved ones that need an I.V. of the stuff to get through their days, or to treat yourself to some gourmet shiz. Beware though having this stuff at home for your morning coffee will make going back to Nescafe like going from 3 ply to 1 ply toilet paper. The staff will even let you sample. If you’re nice. And if you’re not. you don’t deserve coffee.

When I make my own coffee at home, I try to steer away from buying commercially branded coffee that you’d find in your own supermarket. Why not when you can buy 500g of coffee from some of the most distinguished coffee countries for a miniscule $ 15?! Within the noise and exciting Central Market, lies the Coffee Bean Shop, and indicative of it’s name(you guessed it!) they sell a wide variety of coffee beans, including(if I read right last time I was there), fair trade beans! In fact, currently I’m indulging in an exotic and full flavoured cup of Brazilian coffee, whilst writing this review, what more could you possibly want? The Coffee Bean Shop is a must visit whilst in the Central Market, but it still doesn’t beat the best bean shop I’ve come across(Interstate of course), but it’s pretty darn close!

If you have a coffee machine, then you really need to get your coffee at the Coffee Bean Shop! Definitely cheaper buying in bulk, you can get high-quality coffee beans(or you can get them ground, depending on what you have at home) for around $ 15-$ 17 per 500g. I was going to give them 4 stars, but they now have Fair Trade Coffee for a slightly higher price — that definitely deserves 5 stars! I tend to try a different type every time I visit, and am never disappointed.

A coffee machine has been a recent addition to our kitchen, and our theory was that it wouldn’t take that long for it to pay itself off if we could resist the temptation to find the best coffee we could when we went out. Well, it hasn’t worked out that way just yet. I still love to have a cappuccino when I go out. But now I get good stuff at home, too! And that’s largely thanks to this place. They’ve got so many damn choices that I find myself buying a few different types of bean every time I go past. They do grind it if you need that done, but we’ve got a grinder, so we just grab the stuff and go. There’s also plenty of accessories here, too. I couldn’t think of any one particular thing that they could do better, so I think they deserve five stars. Great place.

The Coffee Bean Shop is where I purchase my Mexican Organic coffee when Ross the boss has it in stock, which is most of the time. I’ve caught him out once or twice. When that has happened I do try other types of coffee from his available collection, but mostly it’s the Mexican Organic I go for. Ross and his team have a very good range and even though it is an expensive item, some things in life just have to be right before I can deal with them. I do not like the effects of instant coffee on my system, I almost always end up with a stomach gripe if I drink instant coffee, and you simply don’t want to know about that. So I usually drink plunger coffee, it is one of my special things in life I suppose. As far as The Coffee Bean Shop goes they stock a range of implements to create coffee in — mostly the little Italian stove-top espresso jugs, but I tend not to favour them because they are made from aluminium and I understand that too much aluminium heated and exposed to something you then drink can cause some brain function problems over time — just something I read that has stuck. That’s why I plunge, but you know, the occasional aluminium jug espresso coffee is no big deal. They do the grinding for you if you need it done, and they use a range of coffee packets that are a nice plane brown bag, so its a pretty sustainable system. Their selection of products includes some pre-ground coffee beans in little plastic pails with a lid, a variety of fragrant and tasty teas, blends of the tea, and the coffee and tea making equipment I mentioned above plus other stuff and some specialty sweets that you’d have with a beverage, or give as a gift — try a chocolate coated coffee bean — wow!

Coffee lovers of the world, unite! And then head, en masse to the Coffee Bean Shop! While I much prefer to get out and about for my daily coffee fix, there are times when I do need to brew up my own coffee. Times like when nice people come around for a visit. And in the absence of having my very own coffee machine(one day… sigh), I go for the next best thing: filter coffee. Now, bean quality means a lot when it comes to filter coffee, so I tend to head over the Central Market’s Coffee Bean Shop when I’m low on beanage. They have a stellar selection of flavours and sizes(hint: try the French Vanilla) and often will have specials on buying multiple packs for those times when you can’t make up that coffee-addled mind. Their hot chocolate is also a winner, though I generally go for tea elsewhere(T2, looking at you). The guys who work there are also super helpful: they’ll grind the beans for you any which way depending on whether you have a machine or filter. File under: reasons Central Market is awesome.
