History

Established in 1979.

Lang’s Continental Carpet Cleaning & Pest Control Service began life in Cairns in the mid 70’s. The business was founded by Deborah’s father — Hans Lang.

Back then the business was known as Continental Cleaning Services. Services offered were general cleaning, window cleaning and carpet cleaning. Carpet cleaning was done using machines that were imported from Germany and at the time, were the latest innovation in the water extraction cleaning method. Hans and his wife Jantina, visited Germany on two occasions to receive training in the new water extraction method of cleaning and to arrange for the importation of the required machinery and chemicals.

In 1979 the Lang Family sold Continental Cleaning Services and moved to Brisbane.

Hans and his wife opened another business in Brisbane — the name was registered as Lang’s Continental Carpet Cleaning Service.

Business Owner

Deborah Lang married Gary Stjernqvist in 1981 and they purchased the business from Hans in 1982.

Gary received personal training from his father in law Hans. Gary also attended professional training courses and continues to do so annually.

Gary became a licensed Pest Management Technician in 1988. This new service proved to be very popular with clients who desired one operator to perform both services. This additional service led to an addendum to the name and Lang’s Continental Carpet Cleaning and Pest Control Service, was registered in 1989.

Gary and Deborah continue as the owner /​operators of Lang’s Continental Carpet Cleaning and Pest Control and are proud of the reputation they have built over the years.

A strong, recurrent client base is testimony to Gary’s commitment to professional, high quality service.
