Never has a decision been so difficult! Spoilt for choice here. I will be back again and again and again.

I read an interesting article recently that fat people have a more pronounced sense of smell for delicious things like chips frying and bread baking. Segue to me waking into Brewbakers and that smell of fresh delicious baking is so pronounced that my tastebuds are crying with emotions… so many emotions. A little hidden gem in Albion, Brewbakers is arguably the best bakery in Brisbane… if not Australia. From perfect bagels and baguettes to sinful donuts, Brewbakers is part of my weekly ritual and they never disappoint. Service is always with a smile, caramel slices are perfectly gooey and the bread a perfect combo of crusty and chewy. So it is clear that I am am fat and, if that is the case, I am totally happy with that. You skinny people clearly don’t just know how good Brewbakers really is!

The coffee is excellent the selection of breads, savouries and sweets is extensive. I can always rely on a lovely coffee here. The staff are pretty energetic. My only grip is the extremes pricing of some of the savoury items, $ 11.50 for a basic bap style sandwich is a bit much but I appreciate the area and the place they’re aiming to be. Regardless of that I keep coming bad because the staff are lovely and the coffee is even better!

Brew bakers is really good. Anyone will tell you that. Luckily, it is across the road from my apartment so I can go there whenever. Of course, the opening hours are inconvenient, however I do not particularly mind this as from the moment you step in you will see that the friendly family attitude the place promotes is well worth it and their bread and treats may be pricey, but are definitely worth a buy.

This bakery /café is super cute and popular and definitely worth a visit! The stock sells out quickly so the earlier you get there the better. After 12:30pm you can’t get much… The food is lovely — they do a range of things both hot and cold. The prices are fairly average for the area and definitely worth it. The staff are lovely and the food is good. I recommend the brownie! It’s massive and delicious! You have to try it. The only negative is parking — if you’re not used to going there, entering the car park can be a bit confusing as you can’t enter directly off Sandgate Road but once you get used to this it’s fine. There’s usually a few parks left too :)

I am a lover of bagels. I had my very first bagel experience whilst in New York and prior to Brewbakers, my last real consumption of a sh*tload of bagels was at Brick Lane Beigel Bake when I lived in London.(I know I’m not reviewing the place, but for a crazy good bagel, hit up Brick Lane Beigal Bake in London-10 out of 10). I have to say, although I’ve had some pretty amazing bagels in the past, Brewbakers is definitely a noteworthy competitor. Their baking brilliance results in delicious breads and bagels which are enjoyed by the masses who know of it. I like Brewbakers plain bagels. The more original and plainer, the better. I don’t like to swamp my bagels with other flavours because there is an art to appreciate in the creation of the perfect bagel. Having said that, a plain bagel would need to be accompanied by a nice mug of coffee. Of course, from time to time I shake it up to adjust to suit moods. The cream cheese bagel for breakfast or the salmon bagel for lunch, which Brewbakers puts together oh so wonderfully. Brewbakers coffee is not amazing nor is it the worst. It is just a little too bitter for my palette. The customer service here is another tick in their list of accomplishments. The staff are very friendly, cordially and enjoyable to be served by. They are well versed in their specialties and recommendations. I just love places when they tell you, «Have this, you’ll love it», because 9.5 times out of 10, I do! Brewbakers is awesome and if you catch them open, it is a must to check out.

I worked within walking distance to this little bakery for about 18months and it did become a very delicious, bad habit for me. Their chocolate bagels would have to be the best around Brisbane. Nothing better than starting the day with a chocolate bagel and a coffee. They’re coffee is decent but you don’t go to this place for their coffee. You go for their Bread & Bagels. They make fantastic roles on sourdough bread for lunch as well. I would highly recommend their roast beef role if your around there for lunch. The staff are always extremely friendly and it really is great to see. Brewbakers definitely have a great reputation and because of that they get quite busy around lunchtime so I would recommend going a little bit early or you may find yourself lining up. Worth it though… just for a chocolate bagel!

Too many New York bagels means that I’m forever on the hunt for something close to the real thing in my own hometown. This inevitably leads to disappointment in the form of what is just a bread roll with a hole in the middle. Every time I bite into a bagel in Brisbane I’m longing for the chewy, slightly sour, dense dough that makes a bagel, well, a bagel. Although I’m yet to find a 100% NYC bagel in Brisbane, Brewbaker has the closest thing. If you close your eyes and bite into one of their bagels, you can almost hear the cabs honking and subway rattling underfoot. And while they’re very close to perfecting the bagel, Brewbakers have completely mastered all the other baked items they sell. They wholesale their delicious bread to many of Brisbane’s top restaurants, and their friands, cakes, and muffins are some of the best I’ve had. On weekends they do a mean breakfast complete with decent coffee. The locals know they’re onto a good thing and Brewbakers is always humming on weekends. Their lovely bakery staff have a ready smile for patrons, and have even been known to throw in a free muffin or friand with an order of breads. It’s sometimes hard to catch Brewbakers because they keep rather odd hours to accommodate for their wholesale baking, but if you’re lucky enough to find them open and with bread and cakes still in stock you’ll be in for a real treat. And remember, get the bagels already!
