Occasionally with work I need to head over Ashburton way, and when I do, Tong Lok is a great spot for a cheap dinner.
There is nothing special about this place, but the food is decent, and it’s fast and cheap. I wouldn’t rate it as one of my top eateries, but for what it is, it does the job.
I generally go with a fried rice and a beef in black bean, because lets face it, you cant really stuff up a black bean (and if you do you shouldn’t be in business). The blackbeans are visable throughout the dish, which I like, and the veggies have a nice crunch to them.
This place is a good option for something fast, cheap and easy.
