Awesome place to have a coffee with friends and family(pets welcome) or just chill out by yourself. The food here is delicious. Whether it’s a tasty savoury pie, sausage roll(super yummy) or a sweet treat(so many to choose from) this is by far the best Café(almost) in The Gap! We love having breaks here in the mornings then walking down up the river to the playground(about 10mins). But do everyone a favour and move your car. There is parking right out front and we’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes.

A great place to meet friends for a coffee, especially since their extension into the next door tenancy. The coffee is hit and miss but the cakes and sweet items are worth the travel. I love their carrot cake. Just bare in mind parking isn’t the best, so maybe try a side street.

When it comes to taking risks in retail, some business owners take the«Field of Dreams» approach, believing that«if you build it, they will come.» And one of those that has found success in this belief is Banneton Bakery at Ashgrove. When this tiny enclave of European pastries and freshly ground and brewed coffee opened its doors, I had fear of failure. After all, it’s in a location that doesn’t always favour the fortunes of retail tenants — others have tried and lost before — but it appears the Ashgrove locals were hungry for a boutique coffee café of their own and I’m happy to see its future looking bright. All of the coffees on the menu are carefully crafted to bring out their best and the pastries and other baked goods, including wood-fired breads, often have the locals lining up outside the door. The interior is small and cosy, but in my view the best place to enjoy Banneton’s brekkie and other items is outside on their expansive side walk while watching the world walk, cycle and drive by along Waterworks Road.
