The Athelstone Scout Hall is well equipped, and quite well supported — although more for Joeys and Cubs than for Scouts. My eldest daughter went through both Joeys and Cubs here, but then moved to the Rostrevor Scout group when moving up as there are considerably more Scouts in that group — leading to more activities with more regular attendee’s. Parking is easy along Maryvale Road, except for the odd evening when Scout meetings clash with events at the club facilities at the nearby Foxfield Oval. Easy access to the recreation park behind the hall makes plenty of opportunities for bushwalks and exploring the creek bed — both very scoutly activities.
