Going to be honest here — I don’t eat many kebabs or middle eastern food so when my Dad was craving for it, we found the loudest, rowdiest place we could in Auburn. This store. Just imagine a large family and all of their extended relatives gathered in this one place, loudly talking to each other. It’s such a buzzing and exciting environment. Nothing like a good old bit of socialising over food. Service is mostly quick but be prepared to wait if you’re getting the mixed plate($ 23). Honestly, meat was ok but you’d probably get more bang for your buck with a kebab plate($ 15). These suckers can feed a normally family of 3 I reckon. The chicken kebab plate was quite nice, very well seasoned chicken and some salad and rice to balance out the flavours. The bread just makes you that extra but full! TIP: Don’t forget to ask the servers(nicely) to give you some dips(on the house hehe) ie. Hummus, tzatziki and chilli flake oil. Overall not a bad place to indulge in meat and more, but be prepared to feel a bit sluggish afterwards — that oil really gets you!

Yes this café looks a little dingy, but the food is really delicious & the portions are very generous! I love their fresh-made bread that comes with the meals & hubby loves their house-made chilli sauce. Also, the salt on their hot chips is so addictive! Yummy! I love the Adana kebab plate, the flavours are brilliant. Hubby loves the doner kebab plate, it’s a very generous serve. The service guys are really friendly too :)

This place is fantastic. Looks a little dingy and worrying from the outside however, the food is superb! Went on a Thursday night and the entire street was deserted except for this place. On Thursday night the food was spectacular. The famous iskander plate did not disappoint, donner kebab meat on a bed of pita bread and fresh tomatoes topped off with yogurt and salsa. It tasted fresh and flavoursome. We also tried the mixed grill plate which was above par and had a rich grilled/smokey flavour. Their pizzas are also nice and in all cases the portion sizes were generous. On Thursday night I would have recommended this place to anyone in a heart beat. I was beyond impressed by the freshness and the flavour of the food which seems to be on a rapid decline in most kebab places. We left on Thursday night stuffed with food to spare, at 11:00pm when the only viable option for a feed seems like McDonalds this place is a life saver. Granted I couldn’t help myself so I took my wife and son back to this place on a Sunday morning. The crowds from Thursday night had disappeared, however, it was still the busiest shop on the street. It surprised me how many people were actually out on a Sunday morning eating kebabs! We had the Iskander plate and the mixed grill again so my wife could try them, also to try something new we also bought a lamb kebab. If you have read my review on Victoria Yeeros in Marrickville you would know that I have a great fondness for lamb and especially lamb kebabs! Unfortunately, the lamb kebab did not out do Victoria Yeeros, however for a rare species like Lamb Kebabs this is not too shabby. Victoria Yeeros does set a high bar to beat though. I don’t know what it was either the starvation pangs on Thursday night or the idea that it was a late night feed, the food on Thursday was a lot nicer than Sunday morning for some reason. In any case this place is a definite must try!
