Established in 2005.
The Little Hen has been proudly run and owned by Chris and Katie Gaunt, mother and son team, who have been in the health food industry for a combined 50 years! Most Balaclava customers know the Gaunt family from the days when they owned the Carlisle Health Foods. Chris and Katie successfully ran Carlisle Health Foods for many years before joining The Aunt Maggies Group, opening 4 other stores across Melbourne.
In July 2015, Aunt Maggies Balaclava was rebranded to The Little Hen, as Chris felt that he wanted to bring his store back to the local community, to be in touch with his customers on a more personal basis.
The Little Hen have a dedicated team of staff, who love what they do and are dedicated to providing the best service possible to our customers.
