What a darling, bohemian and cool use of a former corner store. Lewin Street Store is part café, part local corner store with bread, milk, juices and other condiments you may need last minute. All of this seemed secondary to the wonderful and heartwarming community vibe that was buzzing inside and out to the street when I visited. There were rad dudes sitting on the kerbside playing their ukeleles, mothers and daughters who’d finished Saturday sports for the day and were popping in on their way home and curious urban adventurers just sussing this new hot spot out.
While it’s not somewhere you come for a full breakfast, it is a cosy place to perch yourself in the sun, sip your weekend coffee and read the papers.

A strong macchiato in a quiet Bardon back street. The café does a great pretzel and doubles as the local corner store with a small range of vegetables and grocery items. A great little local.
