a small elegant bar that specializes in mexican drinks and food. this urban bar offers a refreshing selection of mezcal, tequila and craft beers. the bocanegro import was dark, crisp and refreshing. stop by for a drink if you’re in bondi!

Did not have high expectations going in, however was pleasantly surprised. Was not sure what to go for on the extensive, very interesting cocktail menu. Our waiter suggest that I allow him to take care of choosing for me, which I normally would never do. What he brought was a delicious concoction made of mescal, infused tequila, lime, fresh pineapple and a few things I could not id. The cocktail was fantastic. They definitely have a serious mixology program. We tried the guacamole with beet root chips– decent enough, nice spin. Tuna tostadas were great with their macha salsa-sort of a toasted chile paste, garlic & oil. It reminded me of a flavor I last encountered in Baja California at the La Geurrense cart. Excellent! The cochinita tacos were just alright because of soggy corn tortillas. Spicy duck was a little too saucy, could not really taste the meat. All in all a very good experience. It is very apparent there are some folks involved who know Mexican food well and are trying very hard to create something special in the Mexican food space in Sydney.

Über hip and slick the service is warm and friendly but the food lets the place down. May just have been first time unlucky but none of the 6 dishes we ordered was any good. in fact the lack of basic seasoning in taco meat and multiple collision of ingredients in «vampiro» was really odd. The warm corn and mayo served in a glass was just bizarre and inedible. When asked we said it wasnt great and were offered a free drink but declined. We paid the $ 90 bill and went somwhere else for dinner. Maybe just new business teething problems but Im hesitant to go back.
