Description

Specialties

PHAB is a design and research focused practice that seeks out creative opportunities for architecture in projects of all types, scales and budgets.

We specialise in small to medium scale residential, educational, interior and commercial projects.

History

Established in 2010.

After several years of collaboration on a number of architectural projects, PHAB was formally established in 2010 by Brant Harris and Ashley Paine.

In 2011, we were responsible for the documentation of the 19th Century archaeological dig uncovered within Brisbane City Hall, as part of the building’s most recent refurbishments.

We are currently designing and documenting additions and modifications to various Heritage-listed and Character houses in Brisbane.

Brant H.

Business Owner

Brant Harris is a Queensland registered architect with more than 10 years of experience across residential, commercial and educational projects. Brant holds a Bachelor of Built Environment (1999) from the Queensland University of Technology as well as a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons. IIB) (2007) from the University of Queensland. Prior to the establishment of PHAB Architects, Brant maintained a building design practice as a sole practitioner since 2003.

Brant has practical experience in a wide range of project types and scales, and has a particular interest in the modification of pre-1946 Queensland Houses. He has undertaken research into appropriate ways to maintain and modify these historically and culturally significant homes within the legislative constraints and densification pressures that exist in a city such as Brisbane.
