REAALLY love the food here. This is where I was first introduced to takoyaki and it’s still one of the best places that make it. Never been disappointed by their food and the new look they’ve got looks really neat

if i wrote this review last year, i would have given them 5 stars but i stopped coming here for a while and when i came back, they changed quite a bit. okay so first off, the quality of the food has changed! i usually ordered the teriyaki chicken which comes with vegetables, steamed rice, teriyaki chicken and a sunny egg packaged in a plastic black container with a clear lid. now, when i order it, it comes with steams rice, chicken and an egg. oh and like 2 pieces of vegetables. they used to put on the pickled radishes too but they dont anymore and the chicken and teriyaki sauce tasted really bland. it was so authentic last year, i dont know what happened. to top it off, they changed their containers or packaging. instead of the plastic black with clear lid they now put it in a brown cheap cardboard box. the problem with this is that this place is a takeaway shop so even if u eat there, u get it in that box. that box has a smell to it and also if you keep ur food in there long enough, your food will stick, STICK to the box! i gave this place another chance last week and ordered something different, i went with the yaki udon seafood. so it came with one scallop, i like scallop so that was good and i think 1 or 2 prawns. since there were no seats downstairs where they are located i had to bring it upstairs to the food court in the myer center. i was walking like 5 minutes total to get upstairs and when i sat and ate my food, first i didnt realy like the noodles, i felt that it was missing flavour. second, there was barely any seafood. and third, the noodles got stuck to the box! when i mixed it, the cardboard was getting mixed with my noodles. also because i put a lid on it since i had to take it upstairs, it heated up really quick and the box started to kind of get soft. the quality isnt the same anymore. the workers there are really nice though, they are dressed cute. they have stamp cards, so every 10th meal or so is free. the takoyaki is really good i will reccomend that but nothing else. while i was waiting for my food, i noticed many people did not finish their food either and ended up tossing half or quarter or it away. i ended up tossing more than half just because it started to get mixed with the cardboard but i didnt enjoy it anyways. i enjoyed the takoyaki though, that is good. i would not reccomend this place other than for the takoyaki but i will not be coming back to eat here again. it wasnt cheap either. i got 6 takoyaki balls and an order of noodles and it costed me $ 19. for $ 19 i could have gone to a sit down place and had a more enjoyable meal and possibly a drink also.

This is one of my lunch time regular places, mostly because they make decent yakisoba for under $ 10 if you order the lunch special. The food is cooked on a teppanyaki grill and you can watch them as they cook your food through the glass window.

Good range of menu with affordable price! This has been one of my favorite takeaway food from myer centre foodcourt. The service is pretty fast, you can see how they cook some of the staff behind that transparent glass window. However, they only accept cash. That is the only negative I could say about this Japanese food outlet. If you like to have it there, you may not be able to get any seat in front of the kiosk, but you can just do takeaway and have it upstairs in the mains food court seating. I’ve tried around 5 different dishes here but my favorite is always Katsudon! Love it! Taste the best! During weekdays and lunch hours I believe they have some lunch deals which is under $ 10.

Refreshing food choice in a sea of Katsu Curry. My personal fav. so far. would be the Spicy fish teriyaki.

This is my go-to place for a cheap Chicken Katsu Curry. It seems to be a never ending $ 5 special. The curry itself is average and doesn’t have much chicken, but there’s enough rice and sauce to make it worth the money.

I stumbled upon this place recently when I had to catch a Brisbane bus for the first time in a long time. The stress of trying to figure out bus routes made me really hungry so I went searching for food. And then, it appeared. Teppanyaki Lovers. It was exactly what I was craving but I had no idea it was there. So glad I do now. The specials they do are dead cheap and irresistible. $ 5, c’mon! The teriyaki beef with rice is simply the best, ask for the Bento version and eat your heart out. Customer service is pretty good, just wish it was faster. But clearly they do the best they can with the long queues. Great takeaway teppanyaki in the city!

A sign on the counter of this Japanese takeaway joint on the ground floor of the Myer Centre says ‘Happy Hour Special –$ 5 Chicken Katsu Curry w/Rice’, and it was this special which sucked me in. I asked the girl who took my order how long the ‘Happy Hour’ lasted and she sheepishly grinned and said ‘all day’. I suppose in the world of fast-food the concept of time is an elastic one. But hey, who’s going to complain about that? Not me. One downside was the surroundings, with a busy bus station opposite providing a not so scenic vista of emo kids waiting for the next bus out to the outer suburbs. Oh well, after a brief wait I had my bowl of curry and was happily eating. The curry itself was pleasantly gluey(a positive attribute in Japanese curry), but the chicken katsu was a little dry and leathery on the inside. The outside was nice and crispy fried, however, and there was more rice in the bowl than I could finish(and contained one small, dark and thankfully NOT curly hair — oh well, I ate around it).

Teppanyaki Lovers is a pretty good food court takeaway option. One reason I choose to go there is because they always have $ 5 specials which offer very generous servings for the price– definitely more filling(and most likely healthier) than a burger meal from one of the fast food chains. Overall, the food is pretty good, maybe not the best but for the price and convenience it is worth trying. Whenever I come here, I go for one of the specials which are usually the Teppanyaki noodle dishes, these are usually around $ 5 but some meals can get a little bit more expensive. What impresses me is how quickly the meals are made for you, and they are made right in front of you so you know they are fresh(I also find watching them cook to be fascinating). I have never been unsatisfied with the dishes and have always felt like I received my money’s worth. When you order a chicken noodle dish, you will actually get some decent sized pieces of chicken, not like some places that would offer you 3 pieces of meat. Teppanyaki Lovers is not suppose to be a restaurant, it is simply a takeaway food stall and for that, I think it performs very well.

I’ve always been drawn to Teppanyaki while passing through the food court on my way to the bus stops. There are always enticing flavours wafting in from the open kitchen, and customers on the tables nearby excitedly wolfing down noodles or Japanese pancakes. I caved one day and bought myself a serving of okonomiyaki. I’d had it once in Japan and had been looking for a comparable recipe ever since. I was underwhelmed with what Teppanyaki Lovers served up; the pancake was far too thick and in some places undercooked, which made parts of it taste doughy. I could taste the flour. The seating area for Teppanyaki Lovers(which are also shared by Boost, Subway and Krispy Kreme customers) is also perpetually filthy; it’s difficult to find a table that isn’t covered in Subway salads or sauce. Best to bring your own wet ones, or opt for take away instead.

My mouth waters at the thought of Teppanyaki Lovers. This little Japanese restaurant hides in the Level A food court of the Myer Centre in the city, close to the bus stops. It really is one of the city’s hidden gems. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, just a hole in the wall with hand written signs stuck to the front counter exclaiming the day’s specials, and only a few food court seats nearby. But this is some of the best and most affordable Japanese take away available. Every meal I have had from this place, and I have had a lot, has been fantastic. If I were to only recommend a few it would have to be their Katsudon served over rice and omelet, or the yakisoba. Their takoyaki(octopus dumplings) are to die for, creamy and smooth with Bonito flakes on top. The service is always good and friendly and it is kind of cool that you can watch as your food is prepared. The servings are massive and almost everything is under the $ 15 mark. They also often give you a complimentary miso soup with your meal. I crave Teppanyaki Lovers and highly recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese.
