The Myer Centre

The Myer Centre is one of the best places to grab something to eat in the Queen Street Mall, as it has two food courts with dozens of different food options.
It also has major retailers including Myer, Target and Coles Express, in addition to many smaller retail stores.
The Myer Centre car park offers some reasonable rates for city parking when you book in advanced online, and there is also an underground bus station attached to the shopping centre.
The top level of the building is taken up by an Events Cinema, as well as a Funhouse arcade.
If you are in the city looking around at shops, then the Myer Centre is definitely worth checking out.

As far as Myer goes this one has plenty of levels to choose from and was well presented on every one I stopped at. The Nutella section upstairs is very cool if you have a Nutella ‘nut’ in your company.

Until I first visited Brisbane I thought that Adelaide had the only Myer Centre in Australia. I guess that suggests that I probably should get out a lot more, which I have since managed to do. Anyway, the really cool thing about this shopping centre is the bus station located underneath. I have always thought that the underground bus station was really really cool, and also really useful in keeping buses off the street in the CBD. I have discovered that buses that stop at the station under King George Square don’t stop at this one, so unfortunately there isn’t a quick way to get here that doesn’t involve walking (not that it is all that far away). The shopping centre itself doesn’t open late, and the food court on the lower levels also ends up closing around 6:30 pm. They do have a huge variety to chose from though. Also the top level boasts a cinema and adjoining entertainment offerings, so I must say that I do like this place.

Access from Queens Street, Albert Street and Elizabeth Street. Food Court at the bottom. Coles Central on the Elizabeth Street. Plenty of Specialty shops over 5 levels being levels A, E, Q, 1 and 2. There is Target on level A, Best and Less on level 2 and a large Events Cinema on level 3. Naturally being Myer Centre there is a Myer store in there. Myer is spread over three levels. Very close to transport. Queens St Bus station is underneath the centre.

If I lived in or around the CBD, Coles in the Myer Centre would be my local for grocery shopping. After all, there’s no freshness like Coles and this is why Masterchef has chosen it once again to fill up its pantry!
Located on Queen Street close to everything, the Myer Centre represents what I like about any shopping centre — lots and lots of stores in one central location! & there’s parking as well — if you spend more than $ 50 in store on a weekend, you only pay a flat rate of $ 5 which is ok.
A sample of the stores that the Myer Centre harbors are: 3, Annie K, Bardot, Angus & Coote, Bed Bath N Table, Canterbury, Crossroads, Cue, L’occitane, Myer (obviously!), Nine West, Roger David, Smiggle, Sunglass Hut, Target, Witchery and heaps more.
If you’re after a place to chill and grab a drink or some food, then you can pick from: Breadtop, Gloria Jeans, KFC, Krispy Kreme, Muffin Break, Nandos, Oporto, Starbucks, Subway, Sushi Delight, Teppanyaki Lovers!, Zarrafa’s coffee (not bad) to name a few.

You could easily spend a day in the Myer centre shopping yourself into a frenzy. No matter what you’re after, you’re bound to find it at the Myer Centre — most likely because a vast majority of the stores located in the city have a sister store here.
Shopping.
Whether you’re after threads for yourself or someone else, there are countless options when it comes to clothing. Hit up Bardot, Cue, Sportsgirl, Portmans, or Witchery for her, or Tarocash, Roger David, Rivers, or Canterbury for him. Then pick up a gift from Swarovski, Mind Games, or Cardiology.
Food.
The Myer Centre has the most extensive range of restaurants and fast food chains than any other shopping complex in the city. It’s so extensive that it stretches between two levels: one, on the main ground floor, and the second underground near the bus stops for passengers to grab a quick bite to eat before they head home. There’s cuisine of all kinds, including Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese food, Nando’s, fish and chips, gourmet salads, kebabs, Gloria Jeans, and dozens more. My personal favourite is Vege Rama, which specialises in Vegetarian and Gluten Free options.
Services.
There is a Medicare located on the upper levels of the Myer centre, and whenever I need to make a claim I head in the early morning when it’s dead quiet. On the highest level, there is a Birch Carroll and Coyle that stays open past the Myer Centre’s opening hours. And a note about the toilets in the Myer centre: avoid the ground floor lavatories because they are constantly busy, particularly during lunch hour. Your best bet is to duck into the toilets in Myer, or the public toilets outside Starbucks.

If you’re a city worker pulling off 40 to 50 hour work weeks, then the Myer Centre makes a convenient shopping hub. There’s Coles Central on Elizabeth level for all your emergency grocery needs. There’s a pretty big food court for a fast lunch with Indian, Asian and burger options. Gloria Jeans and Shingle Inn are decent coffee places for informal meetings or catch ups. A Justice of the Peace is available on Mondays between 11am and 2pm at the customer service desk. Plus for last minute gift ideas, try a Myer Centre gift card available at the customer service desk on level Q (or online). There’s over 180 specialty shops so there’s bound to be something for everyone.

The Myer Centre has always been my little secret place I went to as a kid. They used to have Tops on the top funnily enough where there was a rollercoaster and kids activities. Gone are those days, but now with all the new shops, it still holds some interest.
With many little stalls like Seacret who threaten to leave if you don’t buy anything to quaint little jewellery buying and selling places. You can have your coffee, eat your cake, eat your pizza, eat your spaghetti or sushi roll, it’s all in the foodcourt, what a cool assortment of food there is.
If your’e after your brands like Cue, Sportsgirl, girls accessories, it’s all here. There isn’t much this building doesn’t hold. It’s perfect for your windown shopping, it’s perfect for your sampling and there’s even cinemas here on the top floor for you to relax in. Or not relax in. It doesn’t matter what you want or need to do, there is usually somewhere for you to do it here in the Myer Centre.
