Brisbane really likes its breakfast places. This one has an odd, oblong space with a window to the back room where various coffee-making operations presumably take place. Its menu is vegetarian-friendly, and the avocado and feta over toast I ended up with was delicious and palpably fresh. I wouldn’t call it fast, but this was a busy place. It’s convenient to the Southbank area, and were I back again in need of brunch I would be happy to try something else off the menu.

Been here twice and both times the food was great and so was the coffee. Their eggs Benedict is unique and delicious.

Nice alternative to the fancy places down closer to the river. Very friendly staff and the food and coffee was served very quickly. The quality was also good, not 5star but definitely acceptable for this kind of café. If I lived locally, this would be my local coffee place.

My husband and I came here for breakfast today and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and interested and the service for both food and coffee was quick. We ordered the breakfast roll and the eggs benedict and both were very good. The homemade hollandaise on the eggs benedict was pleasant and there was a generous serving of bacon topped with two perfectly poached eggs. There was a selection of baked pastries on the front counter which looked very tempting. I would definitely recommend a visit.

I went to The Roastery Café in a group of 6 this morning for breakfast, and absolutely loved the food and the setting. On first glance the café looks like a little hole in the wall, but once you actually walk inside you find that it is quite large and goes back for ages. As the name would suggest, they have a coffee roasting set up there, and you can see it all through large glass windows as you walk through the café from the front to the back. Once you’re out the rear, you find yourself in a gorgeous outdoor space complete with hanging baskets, ventricle herb gardens and large wall murals. There was also a beautiful smell in the air that reminded me of beautifully smoked wood chips. The staff were friendly and competent, and all of our food came out piping hot and within 5 mins of each other. The meals were very reasonably priced and were generously portioned. The flavour was excellent. The only disappointing thing was that the poached eggs had been cooked for 40 secs too long and therefore did not have soft yolks. Small, I know, but annoying. Another thing we found tricky to navigate was the lack of parking. It’s quite limited. Not wanting to finish on a negative note, I’m going to wrap up by saying we all loved our experience, and would happily go back as the food and the coffee were excellent :)

Having heard of The Roastery Café and their great coffee, I was looking forward to a planned breakfast there with some friends. There were no issues with parking on a regular Sunday morning. Even better, our crew of mostly cyclist was also well catered for with a rack for at least 6 bikes out front. They have a nice variation of seating arrangements from on out front on the street to the quiet back lane and lots of seating inside. Service was friendly and our fairly large group was catered for easily, with orders for coffee taken and served quite quickly. The onsite roasted coffee has set a new benchmark in what a good coffee should be. With a range from porridge to savoury mince, the menu was quite extensive, and I think a few more visits are called for to check out the rest of it. My baked eggs with chorizo and goats cheese was fabulous and I would have a hard time not choosing it again next time I visit. I look forward to visiting The Roastery Café again very soon.

What would seem is a small unassuming warehouse with an attached café, produces some of the tastiest coffee in Brisbane. From their desire inducing cold drip brews to their regular old late, they know how to make coffee good. Have a hipster swig of Marilyn, Ray Charles, Dalai Lama or Malcolm X and you will be back for more. However coffee is not the only thing they do well. Yummy food is also on the menu as is a charming hipster atmosphere all made available for one to enjoy a lovely morning at a great Brisbane café. Great coffee. Check. Great service. Check. Great food. Check. Great atmosphere. Check. 5⁄5 Stars. Definitely.
