We went for the two for one meal deal and ordered two of the roasted pork and cheese toasties. 30 minutes and a follow-up later, our food finally arrived. Our toastie was very oily and came with some soggy chips served on a chopping board. The portions were pretty big and we didn’t manage to finish half of it.(Our dog loved the leftovers, however) The hotel across the street serves much better food at a more reasonable price.(Except when it’s buy one get one free night) Too bad it was closed for renovation…

Food was not great, especially for the prices.

The Camperdown Hotel(the old HQ Hotel) on Parramatta road is an increasingly popular pub for locals and those wanting a drink or something to eat after a day at work. It was renovated a few years ago and all for the better. There are a few tables to dine on outside on the footpath, a sports bar at the back or plenty of seats on the street level area. Upstairs you’ll find a small balcony which doesn’t hold too many people plus another bar which also caters for functions. If you’ve got the gambling bug there is a small TAB area and a pokies lounge for you to get your fix. Parramatta road is a busy place so if you need a break from it all, then The Camperdown Hotel is the place for it.
