The first night I went out on my 18th birthday my friend suggested this place to me. This place got my attention when my friend mentioned that it had a Nintendo 64 in there. Unfortunately at the time I think it was out of order, but the bar staff was incredibly kind to give me a free shot on account of it being my birthday. Had a great time even though the drinks were a bit much, but how could I complain after a free shot

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet! I think I just want to keep this place to myself! I love Blacksheep because it is a just a good place to have a drink. It’s quiet, it’s fun, the bartenders rock and there’s jenga. We go there often because we are usually on our way to or from the Dendy which is right across the road. Weekday happy hour consists of $ 5 blacksheep pale ale(which is really decent) and wines. The cocktail menu is fantastic. Not your cheapest, but so much love goes into those drinks. The music is always great too, on Sundays there is sometimes live music. You will be pleasantly surprised by the food. Their chips are magical! Laced with something addictive I’m sure! But yeah, Blacksheep is horrible and you should all steer clear of this place: p.

Blacksheep ROCKS. Best music around, great food, Pete & Co — great. Best wine bar/café/place to hang in Newtown.

Still tweaking the layout but these guys care about what they do and make you feel welcome. Excellent cocktails but be patient, sometimes the artistry takes a while.

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed with this place. The interior looks so glamorous(well, for Newtown that is) but the drinks were to expensive and did not live up to my expectations. And the place was practically empty but it might’ve been because I went there on a Thursday night :/

This is a lovely little establishment and tapas bar. The décor inside is right up my alley — it’s all dark and atmospheric, but still warm and inviting. The kind of place you could while away quite a few hours without noticing. There’s a weird deer head, heavy wax candles and a fireplace too, with big wooden tables and lanterns all around. Very cool. Also, they have Jenga! Awesome sauce. The food was delicious, but very expensive for what you get. We had the potato skins(we asked for curly fries, but they didn’t have any. Which is strange considering they had potato skins. So I’m guessing they’re not made in house?) which were really good. Then we had the chicken wings were om nom nom nom. The meat was so tender and yum it just fell right off the bone. And lastly we had the three mini sliders three ways. Good, but not amazing. We left still hungry, but I guess the point of a tapas place is just that. Tapas! Not designed to fill you up completely. So maybe not the best place for dinner, but a great place to wind down the night :)

Walked in randomly on an unplanned first date and it turned out to be perfect! I was attracted to the sparkles of the giant chandelier and the live music, so I was like«lets check this out?!»… LOVED the décor. The staff were friendly and attentive, but the real standout was the squid. It was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. What else did we have? Shrimp and something else, everything was great, but that squid! *licks lips*… chargrilled, tender. Definitely want to go back for more. Not a bad word to say about the place!
