Bohemian, beachside couture; think less St Tropez and more Ipanema, Brazil. The clothing and sexy swimwear are hot but a word of advice; the prices tip the top end of the scale and bikinis are itty-bitty. I can almost guarantee you’ll go up a size, or two, unless you’re brave enough to bare 90% of your but cheeks and chest. More beautiful than the fashion is the precious collection of gorgeous vintage wares, that decorate the stores surfaces. I asked if about three different items were for sale, and disappointingly learnt all the trinkets were for visual merchandising only. Damn it! The helpful shop assistant(Clarisa I think is her name? a lovely, chirpy girl), told me they are sourced from antique shops in Guildford and Fremantle. I was inspired and my own forage into vintage ornaments and homewares ensued.

I adore the Tigerlily store, it has a boho, indie feel to it and sells swim wear that seems too good to get wet. In fact, Tigerlily bathers do seems too good to be bathers and for the price you would definitely want to get more wear out of them, perhaps as a leotard paired with some denim shorts. When I entered the store, the lady was very friendly, not really a person I expected to be working there, she kept mostly to whatever it was she was doing probably because most people that came in, walked back out again a couple minutes later. There is nothing that really keeps you in the store or encourages you to keep looking and the designs look as though they would only be flattering on a tall, thin model shaped figure; it’s not a store I can really be bothered going back into, not because it’s bad, it just doesn’t have much energy.
