Mm mm You gotta have the mushroom and leek Ragu ! The menu is well thought of, creative and unique from many other healthy food cafes. Love the cold pressed juices too. Great service ! Waitresses are smiley n friendly.

Located right by Claremont Quarter, with exposed brick walls and a glassed-in coffee roastery, Typika was an easy choice for breakfast after the Anzac Day dawn service. With tired eyes and empty tummies, three friends and I waltzed in, eager to fuel up on coffee and carbs. It being not even 8am, the place had not yet been filled up with the usual early risers, so it was easy getting a table for the four of us. The waitstaff were prompt in bringing us table water and taking our coffee orders. Not long after, our breakfast orders had been whisked away to the kitchen and as we sat waiting for our food, I admired the way staff greeted their regular customers like they were old friends. When our food came out, our eyes lit up with joy and as we devoured our breakfast, I pondered on the words I’d use to compose my review. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and I didn’t regret it one bit. It being a rather chilled morning, I was appreciative of the spiced tomato base mix and perfectly runny 62 degree egg– a winning winter combination.

We;ve been past this place loads of times, but never stopped by until a few weeks ago. The coffee is pretty flippin’ good, as are the limited pastries on offer(ahem, cronuts!). I went for brunch last week and wasn’t brave enough to try the Angry Bird(seemed messy), so I opted for the Dang Dang Beef, while my partner chose the Golden French Toast. Each was excellent, with a warning that the french toast is super rich — my partner was glad she got the Barossa Breakfast Tea to cut through it(a cappucino would be powerless against it!). We’ll be back. Soon.

Been here a few times now and still not disappointed. Great service, food and coffee. This time we just stopped in for a quick coffee and a small bite. The mini filled almond croissants from the cabinet were pretty hard to pass up on and they tasted as good as they looked.

First time here and today I was with my bestie… not my husband. he unfortunately missed out today and what a shame for him. Originally went to try the coffee because I’ve always wanted to try. but…when we looked at the menu… we were excited! It took us awhie to decide so we had 2 dishes and shared. 1. Angry Bird — Korean fried chicken on a chive waffle… slightly spicy but the first taste of this amazingly crispy deep fried chicken skin with some guacamole and the waffle. holy cow the flavours exploded in your mouth instantly… the textures of the soft and smooth guacamole and the crunchiness of the fried chicken made us going in for more! I would’ve been happy without the waffle but it was a nice touch. 2. Mushroom Rafu — Totes amazeballs! Creamy mushroom Ragu with cream cheese on Ciabatta bread topped with a poached egg and garnished with a vibrant mox of stringed beetroot and carrot. Both plates demolished! I’m sorry to say but I didn’t concentrate much on the coffee and my girl’s coffee wasn’t hot, she was a little disappointed. Dessert we gave a miss, but maybe next time because I am definately going back to this place!

Their Ethiopian coffee is out of this world. It is truly one of the most unique and delectable tasting coffee I’ve tasted and without the doubt the best in my books. The café itself has a very relaxed ambience and great interiors combining brick walls and wallpaper art that brings out an inner garden feel. On the contrary, the other side has the glass walled coffee brewery that brings authenticity and uniqueness to it.

Prices are higher than average so I’ve taken a star off for that. Food is usually good here. However I feel like I’m scrambling for choice here sometimes. Today I got the wagyu burger and the vanilla and yoghurt pannacotta. The burger was great. Flavours went well together. Patty obviously doesn’t compare to say Rockpool but it’s not terrible. Have nothing to fault on the chips. Delicious and crispy. Vanilla pannacotta was nice. Fruits were fresh and the nata de coco was a nice touch. I must add, I’ve had a few misses here before.(I ordered the Dang Dang dish when it made its debut and it was way too salty). However, Typika is usually quite good. Coffee is good here.

Typika won’t ever disappoint for breakfast or brunch. There is alot of seating and turnover is rather quick so don’t be put off by having to wait for a table. We had Beef Benedict and Eggs on Toast. The Beef Benedict is highly recommended and one of my favourite dishes here. The coffee is nice but the cups are very small and they cleverly keep asking if you want more coffee.

My husband and I have been coming to Typika for years now and it is always great. They roast their own coffee here and it is always fantastic. They also sell their beans so you can recreate the experience in the comfort of your own home. Their menu is quite extensive and all the dishes are available all day, which is great if you fancy a burger for breakfast after a big night. I had the scrambled eggs on toast and I rate them as the best eggs in Perth(Gusto is my next pick!). Other dishes I have tried are the porridge and Bircher. Both are great and the porridge is the perfect amount of sweet. My husband gets the spiced beef Benedict which comes with a delicious harissa hollandaise that he can’t resist! Definitely give it a try!

Yes… This place gets a swifty 4 stars… Came last weekend for brunch with my gal. Firstly I have to say, it’s a great use of space tucked away in a carpark in Claremont. The carpark can get a bit crazy however once you’re inside, it’s a pleasant atmosphere that’s buzzing with character. We were served rather fast and had to go for the caramel pancakes with the candied bacon and the pulled pork quesadillas with some ice coffees to indulge in. Let me tell you, not 5 mins had passed when they came out with our order. Super fast and considering how busy they were, I was really impressed. Everything was delicious and super decedent. We left with a tight waistband and feeling very content. Decently priced, and friendly service. A tick on my list.

Dang! The Dang Dang Beef, new to the menu was amazing. The coffee is decent without being as good as other popular cafes — apparently the owner thinks latte art takes too long to be justified… A bustling location with good vibes.

If you want to judge a café or restaurant in Perth on how things SHOULD be… Then head into Typika’s in Claremont immediately!!! Where do I start? Ok it does have the BIGGEST gluten free options on any menu anywhere in WA! Staff are the friendliest! Food is the freshest, sourced from the best places, you can taste it! I ordered the pancakes which tasted 101% delish, as well as the French toast. You HAVE to order the French toast, there is nothing better, anywhere! N.B. It comes served with bacon so all you vegetarians out there ask for no Bacon when you order. If there was one thing I could change about Typika’s it would be the Eftpos machine… This came out of the Ark, and they don’t accept AMEX either… That’s getting extremely picky though! Don’t forget the food served and staff are the best in WA! Why frequent Vans in Cott? You taste a dish in Typika’s and you will never go back to Vans I promise you!

Yummy!!! Yummyilicious is more the word! Went there on a busy Saturday morning and it was choccas but we were seated within 5mins. Really cool retro fit out. It’s in a large warehouse style building and you can see where they roast their own coffee. So if your a coffee lover your in your element. Lots of cronuts to try and I really liked the variety in the breakfast menu. Big generous served with not just the usual brekky food Service was great and quick and the waitress was lovely. Sitting along the wall was s bit squashy and you felt like you were a bit on top of each other(so much so that my partner and I just listened to the Canadian pair next door and his cheesy jokes). But Still enjoyed the morning and will be back again.

What a place — reminds me of a brewery but for coffee and food. Has an industrial feel which is not so sterile(but industrious i am sure). We went for breakfast and i decided to try the Spiced Beef Benedict — i cannot remember anything else — It was sensational! My friend had the porridge and I think he liked it. The coffee is roasted on site and is not bad — but wasn’t outstanding. The service was brilliant, friendly, quick and attentive. Lots of room and was not noisy like other places. Cannot wait to have another Spiced Beef Benedict. i did take a photo for this review but cannot work out how to place it on here.

Yum have been wanting to go here for ages and it didn’t disappoint! I came here with two friends on Saturday for lunch and although it was busy we didn’t have to wait for a table. We actually all were drawn to the pulled pork quesadillas so all ordered the same dish and none of us were disappointed. It was absolutely delicious and really good serving size– I was full for the rest of the afternoon! There were a lot of other delicious looking options as well and not too pricy! I also like the look of the place because you can see instead where they brew the tea or beer I’m actually not sure haha, but it’s got a industrial style about it

I’ll admit I am a huge fan of this place! First impressions really pulled off here! While there may be an abundance of older ware-house style, quirky furniture and rustic charm décor in the café scene as of late I didn’t mind it at Typika. This is a large venue! And there is a lot of noise caused by the loads of people that were there at the same time as me for a bit of breakfast. There was about a 10minute wait for me to get a table at 9.30am, I didn’t really see anybody waiting longer than 20minutes, but then again I’m just speaking from what I experienced. Coffee was delicious, if you see me ordering 2 coffees in a sitting that means that stuff is G O O D! It really was quite delightful that staff were always ready to take our order and it wasn’t too much of a hassle to get their attention. Although it got quite busy around 11am and that’s when it was slightly harder to try wave someone down. I ordered the Spicy Beef Benedict($ 20) while my friend had the Cast Iron Pan-Cake($ 23), while prices I would say are a bit on the high end I was not dissapointed by my meal and upon tasting my friend’s meal, oh my goodness there was not fault made and I was in foodie heaven. The spiced beef benedict showed special care in to flavour combination, that slow cooked beef was unimaginable! The hit os spice you get balanced so well with the silkiness and creaminess of the hollandaise sauce. I honestly could not find anything wrong with it! My friend’s cast iron pan-cake was a mixture of all things I love involving pancakes, caramelised fruit, and a donut consistency! While she isn’t a fan of cinnamon, this was able to be left off this dish as per request which is pretty nice of the team! There is a menu dish which I really want to try next time and that is the black sticky rice with mango and coconut yoghurt– while it sounds a little on the healthy side I think it sounds utterly delicious at the same time! As well as the green scam and salmon! So much more to try and I hope it lives up to the expectation when I undoubtdly will visit again!

Decided to hit this place up after being recommended to me by one too many people! The café should really be named a hall for it’s mass space and longish layout! Great murals and trendy décor as you enter. Staff was super friendly and service was quick. I only had the affagato this time around as the kitchen was already closed(went on a Sunday at 2.45pm) — rookie mistake! Had a sneaky peep on the menu and my oh my, they do have a very long list of delicious sounding grub! It is a place that I would definitely keep showing up wanting to try everything on the menu. For the coffee. I had the house blend and it was amazing. Strong, earthy tasting coffee with a slightly acidic after taste that just does it for me. Boldness of the coffee was well balanced with the vanilla ice cream. I would def revisit this gem of a place and do another review about the food. At this stage, I’m giving 4.5÷5 for the coffee and ambiance. Watch this space guys!

Typika has been the talk of town and is a popular breakfast, brunch, lunch and coffee spot. Typika houses a glassed-in coffee roastery where all the roasting action takes place along with a warehouse for storing green beans, roasted coffee and wholesale products. I was there during the peak lunch hour and was lucky to get a table for the 3 of us. Despite how busy it was, Typika has a positive vibe. So, I asked our waitperson what was his recommendation and he recommended the Caramelised Beef Ribs($ 32). The Caramelised Beef Ribs consists of tender beef ribs slow cooked in coconut milk and spices, served with a fresh coconut salad and sweet dipping sauce. The Beef Ribs were caramelised to perfection. Soft, tender and the meat fell off the bone easily. The fresh coconut salad and sweet dipping sauce gave a punch of freshness and acidity to the dish. The recommendation did not disappoint at all! Dad had the Chipotle Bean Hotpot($ 17.50). The Chipotle Bean Hotpot is a small pot slow-cooked cannellini beans, kidney beans, ham hock, herb and garlic sausage in a spiced tomato based sauce, served with a runny 62 degree egg and cheesy Turkish Bread. Why 62 degree egg? It was designed to be stirred through while thickening the Hotpot to perfect consistency. YUM! I had a taste test of the dish and it was delicious and full of flavour. A warm, hearty dish that is perfect for cold and rainy winter days. Mum had the Eggs Florentine($ 22) consists of two soft poached eggs nestled on toast, wilted spinach, smoked salmon and finished with hollandaise and micro herbs. The poached eggs were perfect with that oozing yellow liquid drizzling down from the top. Mum enjoyed her dish and thought that it was really good. I had a taste test of the Eggs Florentine and I thought that the flavours blended well together, making it a tasty dish. After finishing our mains, we decided to have some coffee and cake. Typika is another one of the places where you can find that glorious honey cake which is currently trending in Perth. We had the Honey Cake($ 4.50) and the Portuguese Tart($ 4.50). I enjoyed both of them. The Portuguese Tart was executed perfectly — the pastry was slightly crisp and the custard was tender and silky. In the Honey Cake, you will find light honey flavoured layers and smooth milky caramel fillings in the middle. With one bite, you will be craving for more! I had eyes on the Deconstructed Hot Chocolate($ 6) when I saw someone on another table having it. Hmmm… a deconstructed hot chocolate. This is going to be interesting. Basically all you have to do is construct your own hot chocolate. The end product? A constructed Hot Chocolate. YAY! The Hot Chocolate was full of chocolate-y goodness. It wasn’t overly sweet and it was just spot on for me. Probably one of the best Hot Chocolates around Perth, but presented to you in a deconstructed form! My verdict of Typika? I actually enjoyed Typika and I think I will definitely be back if I am ever around the Claremont area. It would definitely be a great, trendy place to catch up with friends over for brunch or coffee. Oh and also, a good place to stop by and refuel if you are doing your shopping at Claremont Quarter too!

I don’t understand why I have to wait for tables, when the place isn’t full, and the servers here act like it’s haute cuisine. Never mind. I’ve had brunch here a couple of times, and it’s been A-OK every time. Nothing more, nothing less. This time, I had the scrambled eggs on toast, and a deconstructed hot chocolate with soy milk. I think the hot choc was more work than it was worth. The chocolate«syrup» didn’t quite dissolve properly so it was a fair bit of work. Is it so hard to sell regular hot chocolate? My friend had the baked cod and while it was a little salty, it has two eggs in it and it was pretty yum. If I came again, I would order that. :)
