I did not expect Shiraz to be as wonderful as it is, from the outside with its purple façade, clothes randomly hanging around I expected it to be a bit of a outdated clothing store and my oh my was I wrong and thankfully! Walking in I was completely confused by all the beauty around me, from beautiful and diverse clothes like the very feminine floaty clothes to the more stylish and young dresses by Style Stalker to beautiful and elegant home wares.
Looking around carefully — because there are so many beautiful things in here you might miss something if you look to fast from antique cabinets, draws and metal bird cages to so many owl ornaments (which I love), glass cloches which I alas also have an obsession about, soft shiny metal jewellery boxes that look like they come from India and cute little books, which make this discovery and visit really worth it.

Shiraz proves that affordable doesn’t always have to look cheap and ‘gypsy’ doesn’t always need to look shabby. It also demonstrates that Cottesloe doesn’t always equal posh — a rule which can be applied to the wares as well as the down-​to-​earth service.
A bohemian personality dominates the merchandise as much as it does the décor. There are floaty printed dresses, skirts and camisoles in cuts suited to women from their mind-​twenties to young forties. It’s stylish beachside fashion.
They also stock a covetable collection of Indonesian and Indian home wares and trinkets. My sister is particularly taken with a set of woven storage units.
If like me, you took a glance and were unsure about this stores promise, do step inside because you may just be pleasantly surprised.

Nestled amongst the shops and cafes of Cottesloe’s Napoleon Street, this little purple cave of wonders is easy to miss. Take heed, however, and do not miss it, for it is rather wonderful. Bursting with quirky odds and ends, beautiful trinkets and some very nice clothes, this is the perfect shop to go to if you’re stuck for a gift. Make your way deeper into the cave and you will discover some absolutely gorgeous furniture; if I had hundreds of dollars to spend on a cabinet or a chair (and a house to put them in) then I would get them here, for sure. Oh, what beautiful cabinets they are. The staff are very friendly and will happily chat to you at length. And did I mention the beautiful cabinets? Oh, such beautiful cabinets!
