Lights For You

I hate to be ornery but I hate lighting shops. I have nothing against lights themselves — in fact, there are a lot of very nice ones around. It’s just I can’t find them in shops, despite lighting shops being filled with nothing else.
It could be the giddying heat generated by the concentration of lamps and globes in one place. It could be the excessive consumption of electricity that just makes me see dollars and clean green environments whizzing away before my eyes. I just want to turn them all off! I make the family do that at home!
Phew. Ok, so I’ve got that off my chest. Lights For You is actually a good basic light shop. It has a small collection of indoor and outdoor lamps, standing and hanging, and reasonably well spread out in a generous space so even I don’t feel claustrophobic. There is also a most helpful collection of salesmen and good connections with lighting installers and electricians. I have nothing negative to say — except that, like every other lighting store, it doesn’t have the lamps I want.
