This place MURDERS a burger, who’da thunk it? Wraps schmaps, what you want from here is their cheeseburger, it’s a real two-​hander, a dense, juicy slab of a thing draped in melted cheese and slapped on a sweet brioche bun and ye cats it’s good, a real 5-​star hangover killer.
Combine it with a fresh juice — also a double-​fister, the glasses are huge, there’s no organic stinginess happening here — to salvage a little bit of healthiness back because you’re gonna want a nap after that burgy, trust me on this one, the only hard part is trying to make it home before the Zzz’s hit. Ain’t nobody got time for no pavement-​sleeping.

One word: overpriced
I’ve given Wrapido a couple of goes now in order to expand my work lunch options.
Whilst everything I’ve ordered has been fresh and tasty, it’s my opinion that soup served in a small sized coffee cup does not touch the sides, and $ 9 for a cheese and tomato toastie is ludicrous.
I’d possibly return for coffee as they serve Sonoma, however it’s officially been removed from my lunch option list.

Decent beef burger and fresh juice. You have to queue to order and the food comes out at different times.
Food is perfectly fine but quite unremarkable (surprising in an area with so much competition) — I would only return if everywhere nearby was packed!

Reasonable food.
When you order food other than wraps they seem to be stretched with creativity as they have a limited sides included whilst not being good value. Having said the food is of reasonable quality.

Sad to say, we had a very ordinary experience here this week.
We are actually fans in general, and have had some pretty good wraps, muffins and coffee here.
This week we tried a bowl instead of a wrap — basically an unwrapped wrap (?!?) My peri peri chicken was quite tasty, although a bit swamped in dressing — but her Thai spice beef was diabolical — cold roast beef from a deli dropped on a salad drizzled in a Thai sauce?!? C’mon, you’re kidding me, right? Sadly not.
Hopefully not a sign of things to come.
We will give them another whirl… but that is strike one.

I am more impressed with Wrapido having walked in and sussed out the place than I ever was walking past the million times before. From the outside it looks a bit scruffy and plain. From the inside it looks tasty and open and spacious. The sounds are chilled and the staff are easy going. The menu is colourful and simple.
My picks are:
Origami — char grilled teriyaki topped with oriental spinach and salad sprouts on a bed of soy rice with a hint of wasabi wrapped in a spinach tortilla ($ 9.80).
Bacon «Buttie» Sandwich with soft Vienna loaf with bacon, tomato, chili jam ($ 8.90). Quite different to the home made ones I remember in London but do the trick after a big night out.
Bircher Muesli Wrap with natural yoghurt, banana, apple, blueberries, and honey wrapped in two mini cinnamon tortillas, drizzled with maple syrup ($ 9.80)
Chicken Caesar wrap with plenty of chicken breast ($ 9.80).
The house baked apple, cinnamon and rhubarb muffins look delicious too.
Gluten free bread available but slices are small and must be toasted as they get it straight from the freezer.
No baby seats. Outdoor seating. A varied and large selection of magazines.

As far as chicken schnitzel sandwiches on Vienna bread go, this café is the cat’s quack.
The top-​tier breakfast and lunch hangout must also be why the crows (who all clearly live in Crows Nest) go (or crow) ”koww koww koww”. I can’t be sure, but I think it means ”This Sh-​t Is Bananas, B-​A-​N-​A-​N-​A-​S’ after spying on what the customers here all get for a feed as opposed to their sorry lot.
But back to the café.
From the outside it could be anyone’s guess how lunch is going to turn out. There’s hardly a spare table during lunch (even the outside ones), the menu (taped outside the café wall for your convenience) is awash with beautiful poetic language — like ‘chicken schnitzel with basil oil, aioli, basil roma tomato, rocket and mixed lettuce on white or brown Vienna bread’ or, for the more gung-​ho rap types, the ‘Wham Bam Lamb’ which is rosemary roasted lamb strips flavoured with horse radish served cold with hummus, eggplant, oven-​roasted tomatos and aromatic rice wrapped in a tomato tortilla” — but you just don’t know. Even with all the piles and piles of reading material on the high table underneath the community service ads. So you order. And then you wait. Two minutes in, the $ 9.80 fat sandwich arrives under your nose, you take a bite, and, well, who knew? The next morning I called and asked if they do the sandwich for breakfast. Yes. Made to order.
Five stars.

The hint’s in the name: they make dozens of wraps for a quick lunch break. Meat or veg, beetroot or rocket, mayo or mustard, there’s a whole chalkboard full of scrummy-​sounding wrapped-​up sandwiches.
It’s a busy spot in Crows Nest, and the staff may sometimes get a bit distracted. Don’t forget that you need to order at the counter.
They do a great brunch on weekends too, and not just wraps. I had some great eggs benedict, done just right and very flavourful. Grab a paper, sit in the window or outside on the pavement, and enjoy.
