This joint is a happy mess, in the good kind of way.
There’s are kids toys strewn around and razor scooters and the chairs are all over the place and you know why? Because people come here to have a good time. They drink coffee and eat muffins and sandwiches and their kids tear about and they all seem to know each other because hey, Dee Why is a seaside village and that’s how the salty locals like it.
Sit on the pavement and watch every man and his dog (literally every man has a dog, most of the women, too, and a couple of the kids although God knows where they got them) pass by.

This place has decent coffee and tasty food but the prices are just extreme. I paid $ 15 for a smoked salmon bagel, at most cafes this would be at most $ 12. What irks me about this café is the price discrimination on weekdays and weekends. They don’t advertise this properly, so before you pay you’re not actually sure what you will be charged.
On their weekday menu to the north east of the store they have normal prices. Then on their weekend menu to the west of the store they have the weekend prices which are higher and under that: 10% surcharge for weekends and public holidays. So as a consumer you ask do i pay these weekend prices you state or these weekend prices plus 10%. Luckily it’s just the weekend prices as adding 10% onto the weekend prices would be ILLEGAL. Note to the manager: get your signage right and maybe remove the weekday menu on weekends, so you cover yourself for any pricing liability.

I go there often to have the prosciutto roll and the lemon lime tart, it can get busy but on week days sipping coffee checking the surf it is relaxing!

Was at Dee Why beach with the boys and craving a good cup of coffee to which my twitter followers directed me to Bacino. After which I thanked them profusely… :-)
The coffee here was surprisingly good, but the real stand out was the pecan brownie (which I sadly had to share…). : —
If you are in the area, this is where I would suggest you grab your coffee.
