Why bar hop around along enmore road when you can hop around this fab menu. Grilled cheese, cheese platter, prosciutto, pâté… omg the pâté. It was just so easy to keep going back and ordering more. The staff were really friendly and the place not very busy for a Saturday night meaning we didn’t have to shout to talk to each other. All in all it made for a really great spontaneous night out for the 7 of us

A horrible one star experience that turned into a four star one. They had a new waitress and had been extremely busy before we arrived. They forgot our drinks and the food didn’t come out until we had chased it several times. When the food did come it was delicious! The chef came out and personally apologised. They’d been extremely busy and by 8.30pm they were almost out of food so the chef made us a huge pot of pasta with prawns and his house made limoncello., it was amazing. They also gave us a considerable discount on our bill. What started out as a terrible experience was turned around and beautifully handled by the chef, who was friendly and extremely apologetic. I’d definitely come back — the food was top notch and the sangria was extremely tasty.

I have been here two times — once about a year ago, when it first opened and then again tonight. Yeah, I’m that much of a Unilocal tragic that I rush home to write reviews… moving on… I didn’t write a review last year, because I forgot and then when I remembered, I couldn’t remember much about it except that I thought it seemed«medieval» in there. And I liked it a lot. That’s not enough for a review. So I found myself here again tonight after dinner and my thoughts are… they’ve added more to the décor so that it doesn’t seem overly sparse & «medieval». It looks more like your every day inner city wine bar. The staff are friendly, they play good music(lol, I own the CD they were playing, it was an old Hed Kandi Nu Cool) and its a very chill place, but gets very loud. Good hang out spot for a glass of wine and slighty shouty conversation. Nothing negative to say, but nothing particularly remarkable either. But does everything have to be remarkable in some way? Bar Racuda serves it’s purpose very well. Bravo.

I find Bar Racuda a pleasant spot for a bevvy if its not busy, but put more than 6 people in and it feels over crowded. I’m local so I pop in occasionally and wander right past a fair bit. Im still in two minds about all these little bars popping up with the new licensing laws — I do feel that with a venue so wee, why bother unless you truly have something original to share. Mind you in saying that it gets quite crowded sometimes so perhaps there is something I’m missing…

What a great little bar, definitely one of my favourites in the Newtown/Enmore area. The staff are great and the cocktails superb(and decently priced).

I’m having one of those — I don’t want to tell anyone about this place — moments. Ah shucks, I’ll tell you. Bar Racuda opened in Enmore on 12 April 2012, and their enterprise already looks pretty successful. It’s an Italian style small bar, run by Gio Buscemi and Mario Montecuollo, who describe their business in historical terms: «Since1889, the Racuda family of Florence has been serving their patrons their own style of Italian drinks, made to measure.» The atmosphere is busy, rustic, understated Italian class. There were big bowls of fruit on the bar, and dim industrial lights hanging from the ceiling. There is a lot of very serious cocktail mixing going on here, and some excellent Italian wines(not outrageously pricey either, glasses start at $ 8). These guys are mates with Giorgio of 121BC, and possibly get their wine from him(I don’t know that for sure though, that is pure conjecture.) One of the best things about Bar Racuda is their complimentary aperitivos — yes, that means free food — from 6 to 8pm(DAILY). It’s almost too good to be true. I remember aperitivos from Milanese bars; it’s such a brilliant hospitality tradition. Plus — the food at Bar Racuda is seriously flavoursome Italian fare — antipasti, pasta, bread, chickpeas, green beans — all served up in homely 1970s-style cookware. They also have flatbreads and antipasti for sale, if you miss the free stuff. But I’ve gotta say, the free food tasted better than the stuff we paid for. Maybe that’s just because it was free? Hard to say. If I was a local Enmorian, I would be here ALLTHETIME. Oh yeah, their website is still being built, but here’s the Facebook page:
