Friendly, fast service. Burgers all over the menu are delicious and well-constructed. Absolutely huge, hearty salad options. I’m yet to find a consistently better burger in Melbourne. I do think their non-alcoholic drink options are overpriced($ 4.5 for a glass of coke) but it’s a small irritation compared to my enjoyment levels of everything else at this place.

Solid Burgers and great range of beers make this a summer must. Pricing could be a little better, but you definetly get what you pay for.

Was wandering around Melbourne while here for work. Found this place, and gave it a go. Friendly service. Very cool, American Diner like ambiance. Long counter for counter service, and a lot of communal tables(10+ seats at each). Also a few tables outside(2 – 4 seats each). What do you go here for? The burger. Now being wagyu burgers, they are on the pricey side, but mine was cooked perfectly. I had the blue cheese burger, with just the right amount of my pungent little friend. Delicious pickles, and bacon. What more could you want? I would have expected $ 1.00 worth of potatoes to be included in the price of the burger, but they decided they wanted $ 5.50 more. I chose the fat fries(steak fries). They were under seasoned, and really nothing special at all. Very disappointing. What could have brought some life into the chips? Nice homemade tomato sauce(or ketchup, in honour of my motherland). So I asked for a side(of tomato sauce). Yuck. Watery, flavourless, out of a massive pump container. In a competitive burger market, I would expect a bit more effort into the overall experience. You can make a 5 star burger, and it will be let down by so many other things. Oh, and I hate it when eating establishments don’t accept amex.

Brother Burger does not disappoint, the burgers are good, really good. The mood long bar, places to hide, places to drink. The huge round table is a must! Take a group of people you love & sit on that round table. Eat, drink, share, enjoy ! As Brunswick St passers by.

If you’re looking for a burger joint that puts in the effort to get you to come back again and again, this isn’t the place. Our first impression was bad all around. We decided to share a burger at lunch so we wouldnt be too stuffed at dinner. The waitress took our order but didn’t write anything down, so the mustard we asked for on the side was all over the burger and the one pint and one glass of beer came out as two pints. This can be overlooked though had the food been fully edible. We had a large chunk of our burger come out raw. Rather than make a fuss we just cut off the raw parts and ate on. I made a comment to the waitress about the burger when she came to get the plates and she seemed put off rather than offering anything as a concession. That’s fine and all except we only saw her once again over the next 45 minutes. The fries were good, and a big proportion, but we went for a burger. We’ll go somewhere else instead next time.

Underwhelming. For a burger joint that models itself on an American style diner it sadly falls short. Extra $ for sauce with your fries that are also extra. N the ketchup was watery. The service was most unlike an American eatery, I ordered a ginger beer which never came and my partner a glass of beer but was given and charged for a pint. When we queried being charged for the ginger beer or not we were met with a snide«can you forgive me?» response. Fail.

The mushroom burger with goat cheese was delicious! We arrived just before closing time, so the dinner felt a bit rushed. Good selection of burgers and drinks. And the mustard Mayo is much nicer than it sounds!

The best mushroom burger of my life. Friendly staff, good brews(as the name might suggest), gorgeous interiors, and the perfect little«beer garden»… but most importantly, the food is damn good. A little pricey for a burger, sure, but damn good.

Tried most –if not all — of them, and can safely say that I love all the burgers here. Some mates consider this the best burgers in Melbs — and while I don’t agree, at their very best they can be up there. Yes, they’re pricey, and a burger-chips-and-beer might set you back a bit more than you might expect, but considering they do take-away and with all the bars and pubs around you can always eat on the go and grab a beer elsewheres. Quite like eating in myself, even if just on the small outdoor area on a nice weekend arvo watching the colourful characters of Fitzroy walk/roller-blade/unicycle/cartwheel/pogo-stick past. Only issue here is with the staff — well that’s probably not fair, but there are one or two team members that give the others a bad name. Just a bit ‘cooler than thou’(but you get that on Brunswick St every now and again). One time a mega-douche obviously couldn’t handle the stress of a busy Saturday night and took it out on us: No space to eat in, so we all ordered take-away but then he cracked it if those who got their burgers first started to eat them standing up inside while they waited for the rest of us to be fed — and there was a long delay between all the orders too, as Mr Cranky-pants got everyone’s names wrong, gave out our burgers to the wrong patrons, and then snapped at us for ‘giving him the wrong names’(because we wanted to wait 35 – 40 mins?!?). Anyway, hope that guy has been shown the door. Maybe the lesson here is to avoid Fri/Saturday nights and stick to less peak times when things are a bit more chilled — as Brunswick St is meant to be.

Burger was ok though pricey for something that can be finished in about 5 bites. We were told that the sides are huge servings though what came to the table was barely enough for one. Fries are… Fries… No special seasoning, just normal salt, the fat chips are nothing special and the batter to onion ratio on the onion rings requires some adjusting… More onion please. It was all a bit meh for me though my co diners liked it more then I did, I guess it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area, wouldn’t travel for it.

I was pretty excited to try this place and got the ‘Oh Brother’ Burger(Take Away) simply for the jalapeños. The burger was actually really tasty but I was disappointed in the French Fries and the 40 minute wait for the burger was annoying. I normally don’t mind waiting for a good burger but it didn’t seem very busy and with no heads up that there was going to be a wait of that length. Buyer beware if you are ordering from this place and have to be anywhere in a hurry.

Talking generally, from one mild alcoholic to another, there is nothing more rekindling of a childhood than finding out you can have alcohol in your milkshake. Not to mention you don’t even have to sneak it in there. Brother Burger is one of many sweet-as bun joints I’ve accidentally eaten at over the past month. Not top tier, but far from any average flip shake. What lets this place down is the cramped restaurant seating at the back and slightly cha-ching cha-ching menu. As an evil vegetarian I can safely say the vego options are both good. If I were to revisit It would most likely be a lunch time type deal or after a Brunswick St early booze up. Mainly because its hard to grind on people with a stomach full milk and tequila so you may as well have a burger and coddle that food baby to bed. Give it a shot, or two.

Best burger I’ve had in Melbourne so far. They’re pricey, with most running around $ 15 but it’s worth it. They use high quality grass fed Wagyu beef and the toppings are pretty generous. They tend to cook the patties a bit too much for my liking, so I always request rare or medium rare, which gets me that juicy deliciousness I’m looking for. There’s an impressive, but expensive, list of local craft beers. They even do amazing drip filter coffee, with endless refills, American diner style. Staff are super friendly and seem to have fun working there.

When a burger costs over $ 16, it should come with fries, right? Not at Brother Burger, where fries will cost you an extra $ 5.50. I don’t mind paying extra for fries, but this seems a little steep to me. That being said, the burger selection here is extensive and quite tasty. The beer selection is fantastic too, with some specialty beers popping up that are quite hard to find around Melbourne(and disappearing quickly too!). The croquettes had me drooling when I walked in the door and spotted them on a nearby table. Unfortunately they were all sold out by the time I got around to ordering, which I found surprising for somewhere so large. The service here seems slow and when we recently stopped in here for a quick beer we were told to grab a table and someone would be right with us. It took over 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order despite the fact that the restaurant was virtually empty. All this negativity is just making me want to head back here and give them another go. I love burgers. I love beer. In theory, Brother Burger should be getting more than 3 stars from me. I’ll definitely be back, and after a quick look at their Twitter feed and the beers they have coming soon, a return visit won’t be too far away.

It was a little strange to see such a big burger restaurant in the inner north! Most trendy eateries that have been sprouting up lately seem to be crammed into the tiniest of spaces. We loved the parquet bench tops in the windows, a great place to grab a burger and watch the world go by. The burgers here are great! I like the selection(although I did end up getting the plain option), and my standard gripe is that the meat was a little overcooked for my liking, so I’m starting to think that’s a bit of a Melbourne thing. C’est la vie. It’s on the pricier side of the spectrum, but the fact that they do onion rings is enough to keep me coming back for more.

The burger was decent, one of the better patties I’ve had in Melbourne if pricey for what it is(and they charge $ 5.50 for fries with your burger). But it was TOTALLYRUINED by the absolutely terrible worst«homemade tomato sauce» I have ever had the displeasure of putting on my food. Please, please, please abandon the homemade sauce and use Heinz like every good burger joint in the world. If you insist on being hipster and making your own sauce, please make it at least taste reminiscent of ketchup. What I had tasted like regurgitated cinnamon infused sweet spaghetti sauce. Nasty. I can’t enjoy a burger without ketchup, so until they abandon their fool’s quest to make fancy pseudo-ketchup, I can’t return.

Melbourne seems to have gone through a burger craze over the last couple of years, it seems to have gone un relatively un-noticed due to the amplitudes of asian and mexican restaurants that have littered my news feed. However I have not been so blind as to miss the«top-ten» burger joints lists that come out every autumn. Nobody in their right mind can deny that there is something special about a food van burger, especially if you’ve spent the last hour or two trying to track it down through the bone chilling Melbourne wind. These places rightly deserve to take out the top spot every year. Disappointingly, however, one joint seems to miss the list, Brother Burger. Fitted out to resemble an American diner in a university town, there are benches, tables, booth, perfect for singles all the way through to a group of ten! In keeping with the ambience I tend to try to sit at the bar whilst devouring my burger, getting refills of my cup of Jo and reminiscing about all of the wonderful times when this would have cost me a third of the price somewhere across the Pacific. Once caffeinated to an appropriate level you can deal with the burger menu, an entire A3 sheet of burgers. Some may say that this is too much, too overwhelming, I say«Challenge Accepted»! Who doesn’t want to choose between pork sliders, jalepenos, bacon or egg on their burger? Although there are a lot of choices on there that concerned me a little bit at the start, I can now say with some authority that all of the burger combinations work. If you are feeling overwhelmed though there are always options to calm your nerves, a full array of craft beers large enough for any beard growing hipster or alternatively alcoholic milkshakes! The mere thought of Strawberry, tequila and milk in the same glass can turn your stomach but surprisingly it is one of the best drinks I have had in my life(and I have now put back a few!). So if you’re looking for somewhere to sit, burger it up and throw back a pint of some unheard of beer then absolutely check this place out!

The vibe of this place was really cool, located slightly of Brunswick St. The burgers were nice, not the best I have eaten but still tasted great. They offered respectable selection of burgers from the plain option to a Lamb with Lemon and Mint Yoghurt inside. For me the best part of this dinning experience would have to be the Alcoholic Milkshakes! You must try the Blue Heaven Option, Bonus points go to the person who can describe the actual taste of Blue Heaven. The Milkshakes were fantastic. I’d say the only real let down was how long the burgers took to come out, now this could have been because of the size of our group, but 35 mins for burgers was a bit excessive. I am happy to go back and give them another go though. Overall It was a great night out in an awesome part of Melbourne.
