Sam sources all the ingredients used in his products daily, personally visiting local markets and suppliers. This ensures that every product is of the highest quality providing only the best products for his customers.
Using traditional butchery methods and recipes handed down from his father, all products are hand made on site daily.
History
Established in 1965.
Bruno Caminiti migrated from Sicily in 1960 to Australia. Growing up in Italy Bruno was always surrounded by food, delivery fresh produce by horse and cart from local farms to regional markets. The first Caminiti Butchery was opened in Melbourne in Carlton in the early 60’s.
Moving to the Inner West in Sydney with his wife Maria and son Sam, Bruno opened a store in Leichhardt on Parramatta Road. The store became an instant success delivering quality products based on traditional Sicilian recipes.
Bruno opened his second store in Sydney in 1974 in Five Dock, where the store is currently located today.
Sam grew up in the butcher shop always helping out in the family business. Following on in his father’s footsteps he took over the store with his mother Maria, when he father passed away.
He continues to operate the store based on the legacy and principles of his father, focusing on high quality and traditional methods.
