I’ve been here a few times for lunch. I would rate it higher but for the high prices. The Chicken Laksa is quite good and I like the Phở because you can have it with Hokkien noodles, not just rice noodles — but neither is blow away. Everything is fresh and in sizeable portions, but I’ve had some pretty lackluster service here on more than one occasion.

Love this restaurant! Beautiful healthy food! Have gotten delivery and takeaway here often. Once I ordered some food which I thought they sold because it’s a Vietnamese restaurant, they made it for me and then next time I went there I realized it wasn’t even on their menu! Great customer service always with a smile! Highly recommended, you can eat inside or outside or delivery. Fast delivery too!

I’ve been coming here for years, ever since the first big sound we played in 2012. Standard phở place. If you wanna hear Mariah Carey ‘hero’ played on repeat then this is the place for you.

This Vietnamese food is passable, but not great compared to other places I have tried in Brisbane and the United States. The highlight of the meal was the Vietnamese lemon soda. Most places make their lemon soda too sweet. This place makes theirs with slightly less sugar. It is very refreshing. In addition their soups come with a very large side of vegetables(some places skimp on the vegetables, this place does not). Unfortunately, the vermicelli salad with spring rolls was not very good. The dressing/sauce didn’t have the typical strong fishy/salty flavor that it does in most Vietnamese restaurants. This dressing was mostly sweet and watery. Their portions are large, but the price is a tad too high for the quality. The vegetarian Laksa was decent but missing acid(either through a side of fresh limes, or in the soup).

Can’t say I am a fan of the food, I have only eaten here once — oily phở is not tasty. They do make a decent bubble tea and have more flavours available than what is on the menu. The staff are nice, helpful and efficient. Don’t eat the food, grab a takeaway peach black with pearls and aloe jelly instead!

I come here quite a bit mainly just for the rare beef phở. It can be hit and miss sometimes but majority of the time it tastes great and satisfies my phở craving. The lemon grass chicken is also great if you’re feeling something simple with meat and rice. Service here is always great.

Little expensive but good meals. I paid $ 14.80 at lunch for a noodle stir fry today. It was a big plate and tasty, though it was a bit spivey. My friends had another stir fry and the spring roll vermicelli salad, both of which were reportedly great. So a good meal, but I expected to pay around $ 10 for lunch.

I probably should have listened to the average reviews on here, although it was actually worse than I had expected. The food was not that great especially for being in the Chinatown area. My noodle soup was flavourless, not to mention oily. The bean sprouts and basil leaves that they gave me were in such small amounts. Normally I would leave a little bit extra however I could have used a little more of both… The price was also not that cheap as well. Sadly I won’t be coming back here after my recent experience.

Good Vietnamese food at a decent enough price. I can’t say this placed rocked my world but I left full and happy which certainly cover the basic criteria of going to a restaurant. I had a vegetarian green curry — very tasty but I would have preferred the curry not to have been already over my rice… especially since the ratio of rice to curry ended being up wrong(too much rice for my liking). My friend’s vegetarian noodle stir-fry was also nice. Fairly standard which means that again it was tasty enough but not something you sit at home dreaming about. The service was attentive and friendly and the location right in the middle of china town is great. I would definitely come back and try more of the great vegetarian selection it offered!

Maybe we ordered the wrong dish? This place is always bustling so we thought we’d give it a go. Oh no no no. I ordered the bun bo xao, he ordered the green curry. My dish was Chinese style beef on top of the noodles, not good. The wine tasted a little like goon that had been left in the sun. I can still taste the Chinese takeaway beef an hour later. Won’t be back.

My review for Phở B could simply be shortened to 3 syllables. OM-NOM-NOM. This little nook is handily located in the valley, and is full of the lovely and fresh flavours you expect with vietnamese cuisine. I recommend sampling the d’lish lemongrass chicken rice paper rolls, the chicken stone rice(with the zesty ginger oyster sauce) and the rice vermicelli salad with beef. The staff are friendly and attentive, and with value for money and good simple fare I recommend checking Phở B out.

I think I must have ordered the wrong meal at Phở B. All my friends rave about it and the food looks amazing but it lacked flavour. I found myself adding ridiculous amounts of extra soy sauce and chillies to try to oomph it up a bit. I will admit I am a bit of a salt fiend but I don’t believe it was just salt lacking… I have never visited Vietnam(it is definitely on my list) but I watch Luke Nguyen on a regular basis and when I watched him cook Phở he seemed to use so many ingredients — onions, garlic, fish sauce, coriander, sugar, fennel and cumin — this is really what got me to Phở B in the first place. I don’t know… Maybe I was having an off day. It just didn’t have that flavour hit I was expecting. On a good note — this place is very neat and tidy and the staff were great.

So my star rating is a bit wacky but basically I could give 5 stars for superlative food and service, even if it’s super expensive and I guess that is what the classic gastronome would do, but I give the full book sometimes to places because they’re cute, clean, friendly, food’s delicious and value for money is excellent. The Phở B fits in here. There’s probably a little sentimental starriness in there too as I remember eating great phở in Vietnam and as I sip this soup I’m transported to Na Trang, where the weirdest tiny jellyfish seemed to bob around with a life of their own in the brekky phở at the markets. Phở(pronounce fuh — almost fur, but softer) is hard to eat with dignity I reckon, at least there’s a bit of slurping at our table, anyway. The Phở B is a forgiving place though; lots of students in for a quick bite and tourists stopping by, groups at tables and others at share tables, eating noodle soups and rice dishes for an average of $ 10 — $ 15. Try the chicken breast phở or the spicy beef noodle soup — great!
