The weekend starts here. Consistently great coffee with friendly professional staff. Soak up the ambience of the markets or browse the weekend papers whilst you wait for your name to be called. Generally takes less than five minutes.

This place is in my top 10 coffee spots in perth! They serve really good coffee, very smooth and nice! Whenever i am in Freo I try to go to this place for my coffee fix! I am never disappointed! Oh and they also serve chia baba chia(made with soy milk), this is very nice as well!

I ordered soy flat white from Black Cherries whenever I went to Freo Market and surprisingly the taste was consistent. I think the turnaround time for a cup of coffee was really good(especially with the long queue) and all staff member were very organised with all orders. Black Cherries also sell some coffee beans with different mixture, which is good for souvenir or as a gift for coffee connoisseurs in your life.

There’s nothing I don’t like about Black Cherries — this isn’t your regular café at all, since it’s smack bang in the middle of the Freo Markets Yard. Punters may walk by and dismiss it at as a regular market stall(I know I did, the first few times!) but this is by far some of the best coffee I’ve had in Perth. Tim and his staff are super humble and easy going — they had a house blend on offer this weekend that was gorgeous, nutty and full flavoured, but they’re yet to give it a name yet. I had a few delicious Piccolo Lattes($ 3 each) which are rarely done well in Perth. If you take a seat around the fringes of their coffee stall, it may take a few minutes for you to get comfortable around the copious amounts of people. But, they’re totally okay with you sitting around with your coffee for an hour or so. Friendly staff, exciting ambiance and perfect coffee — what more do you need?

A welcome new addition to the Freomarkets yard Black Cherries shares my enthusiasm for all things coffee. Their passion for coffee emanates across the yard, as does the waft of roasted coffee beans. They have samples of coffee beans to smell or even taste if you are looking to buy beans for home. Their take-away coffees are deliciously smooth and served with the utmost haste(whilst still maintaining quality). Although they have competition from another coffee company in the markets it remains busy. Their is a definite buzz surrounding this coffee stall and it becomes contagious. They will make you coffee the way you want it, perfect!

If you’re after an authentic barista who knows everything about beautiful fresh coffee beans, Black Cherries Espresso is the place for you. A take-away only coffee bar that supports small, local bean suppliers, Black Cherries sits within The Yard at Fremantle Markets. It’s always really busy, but never frantic, and has become a favourite amongst my co-workers when we’re all dying for a cuppa pronto! Owner and head barista Tim always does his utmost to ensure your coffee is 100% perfecto, and always serves it with a smile. I think I have a slight crush actually! His passion for serving amazing coffee is clearly evident in every cup — every coffee I’ve had from here has been the perfect temperature with a smooth mouth-feel and amazing flavour. Sometimes they like to get a little experimental too with their iced drinks, which is a whole lot more fun than receiving your standard iced mocha day after day and like your coffee EXTREME! He put 4 espresso shots in my friend’s iced coffee once. It was fairly intense but enjoyable nonetheless. Tim’s photography is also pretty cool too — lots of urban apocalyptic scenes. Although, there’s not much of it now that they’ve changed locations in the Yard.
