I love their recipes for breakfast — the combination of beetroot, mushroom, hollandaise is surprisingly very palatable. If you are keen to explore new recipes for breakfast or brunch, Lenny The Ox is definitely the place to go.

Delicious food, ok coffee; but expensive and hot environment. We had a craving for hollandaise so some form of Eggs Benedict was required. Lenny provided with the hash which had 2 poached eggs resting on a potato hash nestled in a bed of greens and zucchini spaghetti. While our meals were the delicious ultimately it was an ok experience: The air conditioning only cools the front half of the café. The coffee was ok but not great. The toast with the scramble was burnt around the edges. The three meals plus coffees cost $ 65 yet you have to order at the counter. I will be looking for a different destination next time I’m craving hollandaise.

Nice coffee, nice food, nice staff — an all round nice little café. Try the muesli offerings in the fridge — super tasty.

Awesome food and coffee, unfortunately we had 2 small children with us and they forgot our order, which made for a couple of scratchy kids. I understand these things happen and we were given 2 free coffees by way of apology.

When I was a youngster growing up in the 6156 Wray Ave was not a place for a pale Anglo. But 30 years later it’s changed. Go figure. Lots of Cafes and a suburban vibe. And the Ox appears to be a ripper. Friendly and interesting. Very interesting. Fresh wholesome food, coffee good but served a bit slowly. Delicious juices. Street really interesting, adults with skateboards, kids with swagger, hippies, hipsters and hobos. Worth a look

Located along Wray Avenue, Lenny the Ox is one upcoming café that is currently gaining its popularity in Fremantle. Oh, and I just found out that Lenny the Ox is also partly owned by the same people who operates Ootong and Lincoln, another local Freo institution. At Lenny the Ox, everything is made fresh from the start including their salads to sandwiches and even cakes. Mum had the Grilled Salmon($ 12.50) with basmati rice, cherry tomato, salsa verde and brussel sprouts. I had a taste test of the salmon and it was grilled to perfection. The salsa verde gave the salmon its freshness and with one bite, the cherry tomato explodes in your mouth. Overall, it was one tasty dish and we were lucky to be able to grab the last one available on that day. I had the Salmon Omelette($ 21.50) with smoked curd, beets and avocado. When the dish arrived, it was bursting with colour. Does the taste burst with colour too? It sure does! The omelette was fluffy and the salmon was cooked well, leaving a hint of pink in the middle. The avocado, smoked curd and beets also gave the omelette its fresh flavours and complements well with the salmon too! It was a lovely dish. Dad had the Baked Beans($ 20) with chorizo, labneh and fried egg. I had a taste of it and it was hearty and delicious. With a combination of black beans, lentils and chickpeas, it was full of flavour. The chorizo was tasty and marries well with the baked beans. It’s definitely a good dish to start the day with! Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience at Lenny the Ox and thought that the service was also friendly and down to earth. It is no wonder that Lenny the Ox is popular among locals in Freo or in Perth, just because of their quality food and coffee that makes people coming back for more!

Lenny The Ox is like a little version of Ootong and Lincoln and as far as I know, it is run by the same people. The staff are all delightful, even the girl behind the counter who was convincing me not to try the Vegemite and Cheese muffin because it is ‘just wrong’. Good advice as I went with the coconut and raspberry jam slice and it was delicious. The coffee is the same as O & L, nice and smooth! The seating area outside isn’t really a seating area but it helps when it has packed out inside. Wray Avenue is seeing its fair share of new coffee places pop up and I am glad that they all have their own little charms.
