Off the Wall had been shut for aaaaages. I always used to walk past and think what a shame it was for such a large retail area to go to waste. Apparently, so did somebody else. it’s now re-opened, but instead of housing vintage clothing as it used to(Lick the Wall is now on Cantonement Street), it’s now a home wares store. With an aesthetic very, very similar to the Corner Store across the road, here you’ll find a glorious range of shabby chic homewares to adorn your home with. Think wooden bird cages, iron chairs fit for a Parisian balcony, tres jolie picture frames and other such things to make any home maker clap their hands and forgot all about Ikea. And unlike other stores of the same ilk, the prices here are super decent. My flat mate picked up a large bird cage for $ 20.

Small wooden furniture and lovely colourful bird cages of different sizes now line what used to be the shop front of an awesome vintage store. Off The Wall has been transformed into a hip homewares and furniture store, housing beautiful rustic wooden furniture, interesting decorative items like rocking horses and probably my favourite large antique brown glass bottles which remind me of my fathers collection back home. Prices are relatively affordable and the stuff in here is sure to make an impression and a statement in any home. Rustic, vintage and charming.
